Cashy Leads Pack Into Final Furlong

As one of 6 maximums, Cashman moved from 3rd to the top spot following Saturday's nerve-jangler at Wycombe. Also taking 5, by default as per usual , was Sparkie who climbed from 5th to join the felled Leylandii at 2nd equal. The other maxis were AccyMad (12th to 9th), NigeB (21st to 19th), AndyD (no change at 24th) and Smobile (no change at 32nd).

Worth noting, I think, that Sparkie has relied on her defaults (2-1 home win, 1-0 away win) throughout the season ...... not much point in pondering long and hard every week, it seems!

6 drawmongers went 1-1 to got a bonus point each, another couple went 2-2 so along with Dav007 and his default 4-0 away loss got nowt, and almost everybody else got 3. MikeA, Ossy Kid, Ouback Ozzy and Tom D were the exceptions, picking up a bonus for our clean sheet.

A bit of shuffling around at the top resulted, the biggest loser being Mab dropping from 2nd to 5th . As the last game looms, any one of the Top 11 could theoretically take the prize, if there was a prize, which there isn't . But, as it's a knocking bet that Cashy is going to forecast a Stanley win, probably 1-0, against the great Satanage, only Leylandii, Sparkie, Outback and Mab can catch him without predicting a loss or defeat - and who's going to do that and take the blame if it comes true?

Time to remind you that the Prediction League is decided over the 46 games of the regular season and the playoffs have no effect on the table (not that Stanley are going to be involved in the playoffs anyway ). But if there are any ties for podium places, which looks entirely possible, I mght just devise some form of head-to-head playoff between them to keep you amused for another couple of weeks.

So - ooh heck - roll on Stevenage and 90+? season-defining minutes. A goal in the first 5 minutes and 2 more before half-time would be very very nice. Can we do it? Yes we can!

On Stanley On!!

I'm quite sure they'll win, in fact they have, but it was only 1-0. Nul points, better luck in the Stevenage thread when Div3North starts it
