Webby and Max are still young though Rob, Max seemed to do ok at Skem on loan but if I remember at Stockport and Curzon he wasn't so prolific, I've not seen enough of them to judge!
Dawber did get a move to Fulham but is being 3rd/4th choice keeper at Fulham any better than being 2nd choice at Stanley?

Andrew left Fulham after a year, following loan spells at Aldershot and Bishops Stortford. He's now first-choice keeper for Altrincham, who are in the lower half of National League North.

I agree with Macca. Nathan is 18 and Max is 19. Surely they are old enough to merit a place at least on the bench - if they are good enough. There is little point in extolling the virtues of our academy and youth teams if they are producing only a very occasional player of League ability.

I agree with if they're good enough then they should be given a go on the bench!
Who are you dropping to make way though?

Re: 2016/2017 Squad ......Signings
In the good old days there was good reason to develop young players since there was a bit more loyalty and a decent youngster might stick around for a few years and save a club having to buy someone.
At the top level it's still probably worth it because one good youngster out of 20 trainees might be worth £40 million.
What's the economics with Stanley? They get a player coming through, he's half decent, plays for a year then buggers off on a free?
Am I being the overly naive?

The only way is give em a contract for a couple of years (1) if they are promising, (2) if the club can afford it? otherwise its in the lap of the gods.

The point on this occasion is that we've brought in GTF because we have injuries to forward players. We do it a lot. If were not going to trust the young lads enough to fill in on occasion then it's pointless having them. We had Carver sitting around for nigh on four years just in case he suddenly turned into Vardy. Its not fair on them and its a waste of our limited cash.

GTF - Signed until January!
Looked very lively when he came on yesterday, Hopefully wasn't just because it was his old club, could be a really good signing!

Re: 2016/2017 Squad ......Signings
I have this nagging doubt that Super Billy Kee may not be all that super any more. I've never seen Terry in his glory days so have yet to get excited about him.
So I'm rather encouraged by the enthusiasm shown about Stanley Fletcher. I'm visualising him as our Ravanelli. Strong, prolific and grey. Please tell me this comparison is a fair one?

Re: 2016/2017 Squad ......Signings
Bit early to wax lyrical about GTF, although to be fair he did his bit yesterday & hopefully will be a good addition to the squad I doubt he's up to playing for 90 minutes.
Terry worked hard but struggled on his own up front against their bigger players - why the doubts over Billy, as far as I've seen he's not given any cause for concern & still gives his all for the team
