Re: 2017/18 Prediction League; Game 24 v Carlisle United (away)

Sorry also got to be negative and hope for a reversal of fortune. 3-1 to the Cumbrians for me please. Hope I am very wrong though.

....... so did we .

After the Crawley debacle, when we had the unusual occurrence of everybody agreeing about the likely result, and consequently nobody getting it right , there was a minor outbreak of pragmatism for the Boxing Day game at Carlisle, with 5 of you clambering onto the fence and 2 jumping over it. Of the 2, Outback Ozzy (see above ) hit the target exactly and moved from 5th into 2nd with a maximum 5 points, while Kiwi John's basic 3 points saw him climb from 25th to 21st.

Apart from that, 7 of you got a point for "Stanley 1", which together with the odd points gained on Saturday had Lord S changing places with Ossy Kid (7th and 8th), Cashman moving above Accytom18 and DaveinGermany into the Top Ten (at 10), MikeA overtaking AccyMad to take 13th, ProccyFan and StevieR pushing me down from 17th to 19th , and Revived Red scooting past Football19, Tommy McQueen and LongLostSon into 22nd.

Two other points of note: Choirboy was seen for the first time this season , making a (pointless) cameo appearance for the Crawley game and increasing the number of players to 40 ...... of whom only 23 put in an entry for Carlisle. So performance on the pitch affecting attendance here too .

Anyway, this has got to stop. So it's rolling on to Grimsby, followed by the Shrimps coming to the Crown to hopefully get the New Year off to the best possible start . But we need to end 2017 on a high before that .....

On Stanley On!!
