Leader Falters And The Kiwi Closes The Gap (a bit)
In general, we did not expect Saturday's trip over the Pennines to bring as much joy as the last awayday to Wearside
, and in general we were right
. Three drawmongers did pick up a bonus point, 1 for 0-0 and 2 for 2-2, but otherwise the pessimists took the spoils. Leading the way with maxis were Kiwi John, reducing Lord S's comfortable lead at the top from 17 points to 12
, and AndyD who moved up from 14th to 11th. The people in the Top Ten didn't change, but the places did, with Nige B's 4 points taking him up from 9th to 4th and Ossy Kid's 3 seeing a rise from 7th to 5th.
In the lower reaches of the table, Twenty Eight and StanleyJosh climbed from 37th= (on 1 point) to 31st= (on 5)
. But with 11 games left to go and 55 points to play for, only 26 of us can still theoretically win the competition - and I am currently in 26th
, 49 points adrift of his Lordship.
So it's roll on the Chairboys this evening. This would be a good moment to start a revival, I'm thinking. Things are beginning to look a little ominous I fear
, but in Coley we trust - well I do anyway
.
On Stanley On!!
