Monkey Hanger Eases Ahead As NigeB Surges Through

Generally an optimistic lot this week, we were , with only Accybeme and StanleyJosh taking up residence on the gloomy side of the fence . Quite a few stuck on top of it though, with 5 on the top rung taking home a maxi , and 3 others bagging 3 points each through supporting Desmond. And almost everybody else picked up a point one way or the other, thanks either to SuperSean or the wazzock : who equalised for them. So …..

MonkeyHanger (3 points) pulled away from Outback Ozzy (1) to establish a 3 point lead at the top of the pile. But NigeB's maxi saw him up from 5th to 3rd, overtaking Valairian (3) and Accybeme (0), with Val himself overtaking ABM to take over 4th spot on countback. The other maxis went to Ossy Kid (9th to 7th), Stevie R (11th to 9th), Kiwi John (12th to 11th) and Watchdog (26th to 19th). The last 3 pointer was Taypot, though curiously enough "only 3" saw him drop from 10th to 12th.

The difference between 1 point and none produced a limited amount of shuffling about elsewhere in the table, but nothing to get desperately excited about .

So …. this time we really do have Bolton in the funny cup before our next league game, which sees Pompey rolling up to the Crown next Saturday. The natives were getting a bit restless down here a few weeks ago , but recently they've had a decent run which we need to stop, please (losing to us will of course cause much more restlessness , indeed losing to us often seems to be the last straw for managerial careers, not that I bear any particular ill will towards Kenny Jackett). Consecutive home wins would definitely brighten our lives , which will probably come in handy after an election

On Stanley On!!
