Of course I knew about HMS Plymouth (or, this time I can't think of a title)
So after the overwhelming support for a victory over the Cobblers produced little in the way of points for most of us, a bit of a shift was observed for the second leg against Argyle, with 8 deserting the camp
, 4 of whom went so far as to put their money on a defeat
- and of course profited thereby
.
Of the 4, only StanleyJosh currently sits among the elite, and 3 points for him was not enough to move him up from 7th. In mid-table, Valairian did make quite a move, from 18th to 14th, while LongLostSon and Taypot moved clear of the Bs to lie 19th and 20th.
Turning to the optimists
and drawmongers
, 12 got a point (all for "Plymouth 1") and 8 didn't. And obviously people who got the kick-off time wrong didn't either Mab
. At the top, the single point difference was enough for Outback Ozzy to stretch his lead over AccyTom18 to 6 points again, and for DaveinGermany to push Cashman off the podium. Lack of a point saw Div3North and AndyD each drop a couple of places.
I did know there was an HMS Plymouth, not least because she was part of the Task Group that took yours truly to Australia and the Far East back in the 70s, when it was still fun to be in the Navy. Rothesay class frigate, twin 4.5" turret forward, mortars and a Wasp helicopter on the back, SeaCat missiles for air defence. But the Naval barracks in Plymouth is called HMS Drake ..... sorry, I digress
So back to business, and off we roll to Lincoln again
, with Donny to follow in short order
. 4 points from the last 4 games
, could have been 12 if the 4 spare goals from the Gas game had been spread about a bit
..... Maybe a couple of games against pepole we might not expect to beat
will see us back to winning ways? What do you think? Heart ruling head for your next couple of predictions, or will cold clear logic
see everybody on the other side of the fence searching for those crucial prediction league points? Only time will tell .......
On Stanley On!!
