That could just be the season-defining moment for the Prediction League ...... Outback was one of only four players who finished up on the fence for our second 3-3 draw in a row. No maxis, but with Watchdog scoring a blank
and StanleyJosh only picking up a single point
, Outback is now back on top, 3 points clear of both of them, with 10 points left to play for.
The other 3-pointers
, making minor games in mid-table, were Tommy McQueen (15th to 14th), Ossy Kid (19th to 17th) and Monkey Hanger (21st to 18th). And only 4 of us picked up a point
for visualising 3 goals at one end or the other - apart from a pessimistic SJ, the others were Kiwi John, just keeping his hopes of another title alive in 6th, 9 points adrift; MikeA, still overtaken by Tommy McQ so dropping to 15th; and AndyD, unchanged in 24th. Nowt for anyone else
.
Kiwi is the worst-placed player still in with a theoretical
chance, on 74 points. Above him sit Cashman, 5th with 76, and AccyTom18, 4th with 77. And on the podium, SJ and the Dog both have 80, gazing up to Outback out in front on 83.
At this stage of the season, opportunities for skullduggery do arise
, given the way we play the game. Advantage can be gained
by waiting to see what your rivals are doing .... as long as you don't wait till a minute after kickoff, of course
. So here is my annual offer to those six still in contention - I will accept your bids for the last two games by PM, if you want to do it that way. And if I can, I will then post said bids for all to see as soon as possible after kickoff.
So far in April we've upset the Tangerine Dreamers, the Moggies and the Skates
, thrown lifelines to the Wombles and the Dale
, and now it's roll on the Robins to have their thoughts of the playoffs put on hold too
. We're certainly having an eventful end to the season - fun, innit?
On Stanley On!!
