Unexpected Correspondent in the Podium Area
A very strange thing happened this morning
. I put yesterday's predictions into t'puter, copied them across to the page that does the number crunching, sorted the results - and found my name in second place
. I can't find anything that's gone wrong, either, so I have to blame you lot
for losing your predictive marbles somewhere along the strange road that represents this season ......
As it happens, on a day when indecision generally ruled, 8 of you went for a Stanley win
, 7 for a draw
, 11 for a defeat
and 6 posts just blathered on about PhD theses
. Thanks to Dion's early and late efforts, the drawmongers took the spoils, and of those, just three had gone for the full and honest original Desmond. And I was one of them, garnering 5 points
thereby, which was enough to lift me from 6th to 2nd, just 5 points behind pointless but still Outback in front Ozzy.
With me on the right panel of the fence were Watchdog, whose rise was even more meteoric from 17th= to 8th
, and Revived Red who made a more modest move from his previous position of last of our regulars (27th) to 25th. It was Ossy Kid who gave up his place at the Top Ten table to accommodate the rising Watchdog.
Taking 3 points
and making varying progress for other scores of draws were Choirboy (15th to 11th), AndyD (17= to 12th), Accymad (23rd to 21st) and Tommy McQueen (25th to 24th).
For the rest, then, the burning question was whether you thought anybody would score the 2 goals which would get you 1 point
. A few did, and a few more didn't. And a few changed places around a bit as a result.
So, roll on rearranged Donny, on a bit of a streak now compared with the original date, but joining the "does nobody want to win this league?" club by getting thumped by the Black Moggies at the weekend. You've surely got to say another draw would be a good result, but will you? We shall have to wait and see .....
On Stanley On!!
