Nine 5-pointers it was, and if
I'm the Oracle, I
do know it's
not even a record for this season (12 maxis earned for the same score at home to the Plastic Dons in December
). But to find out the all-time record requires me to go and amend 10 separate spreadsheets covering the last 10 years, and that in turn will require me to be
very bored some afternoon in the future
.
Haven't been bored this week, anyway, which is why this report is coming out late
, after Div3North's intro to the next game along the tracks. As observed,
lots of maxis, and quite a few of them scored by people keenly interested in winning our little competition
. Most notably Watchdog
, up from 4th into 2nd spot, ahead of pointless Outback Ozzy on countback and now only a point behind one-point StanleyJosh. AccyTom18 didn't improve his 5th place, but did close in on the leaders, only 4 points behind SJ. Valairian and Kiwi John jumped together from 8th and 9th to 6th and 7th, and Mab and Div3North rejoined the top table in 9th and 10th, at the expense of DaveinGermany (absent without leave) and StanleyHouse.
Outside the elite, the remaining maxis went to Leylandii (13th to 11th), Choirboy (19th to 15th), and Tommy McQueen (22nd to 16th). And some outside the elite may be interested that I find I lied
about potential winners after the Dale match - with 4 games left and 20 points to play for, everybody down to Ossy Kid in 22nd is still in with that theoretical
chance.
So - four games to go and its roll on the Black Moggies
. They still look pretty good for the playoffs, but losing to little old Stanley would be quite a blow for their hopes of automatic promotion - and we would like to play them again next year, wouldn't we
?
On Stanley On!!
