Re: 2020/21 Prediction League; Game 45 v Charlton Athletic (home)

Only a Maxi and a Blank Can Stop Ozzy Now

But there were three maxis this week, so it isn't over until it's over .... .... as the last couple of games have proved .

More significant than the maxis, though, was Outback Ozzy's 3-pointer 2-2 prediction, which with Watchdog and StanleyJosh both settling for a single point leaves OO five points clear of them at the top, with one to play and five points at stake. And those three points took everyone else out of the race , though AccyTom18, another 1-pointer, could still claim a place on the podium.

So to win the Prediction League:
OO needs one point from the last game;
The Dog needs a maxi, and OO not to get a point;
SJ needs a maxi, the Dog not to get a maxi, and OO not to get a point.

And any or all of these three are welcome to pass their final guesses (or carefully considered predictions) to me by PM if they so wish ...

Today's maxis fell to Ossy Kid, who leapt from 17th to 11th as a result, Nige B, 19th to 17th, and David1, appearing for the first time this season and entering the lists in 30th (out of, now, 35). And D1 has the percentage league prize in his grasp , standing at 100%. All he needs to do is not play next Saturday ..... what a shame there isn't a percentage league prize . Marker for next season, though.

Monkey Hanger was the other player to pick up 3 points, lifting him from 18th to 16th.

Elsewhere, the impact of a point or not a point saw Div3North clamber back onto the top table at the expense of StanleyHouse (not playing and down to 12th), Tommy McQueen squeeze past DaveinGermany, and AngeB gain a couple of places, passing TomD and Taypot.

So, Pompey again to finish things off . We did them a favour and kept Charlton off their backs today - next week we might just be doing them another favour by sparing them the horrors of yet another failed play-off campaign. Less than a mile from home for me, but I don't somehow think I'll be doing a Pompey John and standing outside the ground for two hours singing "Down with the Stanley, you're staying down with the Stanley ..." - it might invalidate my life insurance.
