Re: 2020/21 Prediction League; Game 8 v Bristol Rovers (home)
Accrington Stanley
v
Bristol Rovers
2020/21 Prediction League Game 8; v Brizzle (home)
Update
So now we know ........ Next Fleetwoof Manager wasn't any of the ones at the top of BetVictor's list - it's Simon Grayson, ex of Huddersfiddled, Preston, Blackpool, Sunderland and Bratfud (well, it is until the end of the season, which - for a team lying 14th, 17 points and a load of goals off top spot and with a W8 D7 L10 record - is a bit of a poisoned chalice) ...... SG was sacked by Blackpool twelve months back, and maybe should have kept the house he had when he was PNE manager, because it was only a bus/train ride to there, and only an additional tram ride to Highbury
And speaking of sacking the manager, the Wombles have eliminated Glynn Hodges (by mutual consent); it may have been the recent League record of one win (Posh 2-1 on 2nd December), two draws (Slumberland and Crewe, both away and both half-Desmonds) and ten defeats, which sees them 21st with 22 points, having played two more than the two teams above them (Brizzle and the Cobblers) .......... Most galling, probably, was that the final straw was losing 2-0 at home to the PhoneyWombles ........
Favourites for the job are apparently Boredom Wood's manager Luke Garrard(4-1 and 7-2 William Hill) and current Academy coach Mark Robinson (same odds), then Neil Harris, Ian Holloway or Sol Campbell - all priced the same as Emma Hayes ........... "Who?", you all just said ............ The manager of Chelsea Ladies, that's who .......... and why not? Probably be good publicity for them, and she may be well be ace .....and by definition, none of her team would have PMT ...
We should have played Brizzle on 8th October; since then they've played 16, won three (Wombles 4-2 away, and Plymouth and Blackpool at home, 3-0 and 2-1 respectively), drawn 2 (1-1 at Rochdoodle and 0-0 at Wigan) and lost 11, including four of their last five .............. 11 points from 16 games is, of course, potential DownPoling time - unless there are four teams worse than you are - and they've got 23 points from 23 games overall (scored 23 and conceded 35) .... last but one in the table are Wigan, and they've got 21 points ......... so it's squeakybum time in Brizzle, I'd guess ............
They've ProperSigned four since then; CMF Ben Liddle from Middlesbrough (who have Marcus Bettinelli on loan, if you missed it); LW Ryan Jones from Weston-super-Mare; LB Ali Koiki from the Dingles; and George Williams from the MKDonuts ........ LoanSigned are Turkish AMF Erhun Oztumer from Charlton, and GK Joe Day from Cardiff. Isn't it. Look you.
A lot of us thought we'd Do It Unto Plymouth, and at 4.38pm I'll swear I heard at least 10 members of the PL all go, "Ah, boogar!" when Neil Ennis equalized ......... but at least the match report on the BBC said,
"Plymouth were good value for their leveller, after a much improved second-half performance against John Coleman's impressive Stanley"
Whooppee!
Good luck to everyone! ............ Take the Jab! (Mine's on Wednesday!)............ Stay safe and keep well! ........... And thanks for playing!
