Cashy Pulls Ahead but Kiwi's Charge Continues
Well, if I tell you that everybody
, yes everybody
, thought Stanley would score against the Shrews, you'll know instantly that there were no maxis collected last Wednesday. 23 shots with only 4 on target
would seem to tell a story ......
We were cautious, perhaps surprisingly so after beating the Millers, and 9 people perched on the fence to pick up 3 points
. Most noticeably among them, Cashman stretched his lead at the top of the heap to 4 points. Also in the Top Ten, Nige B, Taypot and Kiwi John did their prospects no harm, Nige staying 4th but closing in on the podium, with Taypot and Kiwi moving up into 5th and 6th. Next up, Stevie R joined the top table in 9th, up from 11= and evicting Ange B from her place amongst the elite
.
Lower down our table, Monkey Hanger climbed from 16th to 13th, Andy D 19th to 16th, Lord Stiffy 20th to 17th and TommyMcQueen 26= to 22nd.
For the rest of us, the most significant change was that Mike A's single point
for our clean sheet took him into 2nd place, overtaking pointless Shurm on countback. And there were a number of other gains and losses of a place or two.
Now, if I'd pushed this out in a timely manner
I would be saying "Roll On Wigan" at this point, but I didn't
, so now it's "Roll on the Plastic Dons". Shame to lose a Lancs derby on a Bank Holiday
, but the piemen were going rather well, so maybe dodging them just now might work out well
. Home to the Dons might be the better bet
. Hope so ......
On Stanley On!!
