Blessed are the Drawmongers, for they shall have 3 points each
Which they
wouldn't have got, if Stanley had taken the 3 points they really
should have got
.
None of the drawmongers forecast a 6-goal thriller
, so it was just the 3 points
for each of them, and (mostly) a leap up the table, as follows: Nige B, no leap
, but now only a point behind Shurm at the top of our table; Accymad, 19th to 13=; Lord Stiffupperlip, 20th to 17th; Ange B, 23rd to 19=; and Stanleyhouse, 28th and last to 27th and last
but two
Seven of us, including me, salvaged a point
through our strange belief that Stanley might score 3. Two also got a point
through thinking the Shrimps might do that very same thing, one frequent pessimist (Valairian) and one new entrant, Morecambe Red. As this was the first time we've heard from MR since Stanley got promoted to League 1
, and before that we only used to hear from him twice a season
, I suspect
he may not be a supporter of the true Reds who just happens to live in Morecambe. But welcome anyway, see you on 29th January! You are now officially our strongest contestant
, saving Kiwi John from that accolade.
Things are so close in the middle of the pack that gaining that point or not could make quite a difference to your position - too many changes to list here. But the Top Ten remains largely unchanged - all the same people, with just 7th to 9th shuffled about a bit.
So off we roll to Oxford tomorrow, 1 point and 6 (!) places behind us and on a similar run of form. It would be nice
to keep them behind us ........ a draw will do, but a win would be really nice, don't you think? And I'll go and have my guess now, while I'm in the zone
.
On Stanley On!!
P.S. I seem to have got the table back under control, but some of you please check you've gained the points you should have this week ....
