Smile 2024/25 Prediction League Game 4 v Colchester United (home)

4 games in now and 2 points on the board

A home draw against Colchester - 1 a piece - a fair result I thought.

Good performances from Kelly - 3 good saves keeping us in the game - Shaun Whalley - who will be gutted that he did not help most of us to 10 points - Tyler Walton again, seems to make the right choice every time

Seamus was very good for the hour again, but a) I am worried that he cannot complete a game so early in the season and b) we lose our way when he leaves the field.........

Other plus points were Nora and Elvis, for the 10 minutes they were on the pitch

17 players entered, 14 homers, 2 on the fence and Haggis going away - tactical I think

Had young Mr. Whalley headed home with the last touch, there would have been half a dozen or so maximums and over a dozen winners

But he did not, the rest is history and from nowhere ossy kid - with a maxi - nicks a place on the podium - from 2 games only

My Excel is playing up massively, so table (of sorts) to follow....

On Stanley On

Even though he was the only person to go away, Haggis still leads the way, but storming up on the outside - ossy kid is joint 2nd with 15

A mention for Tom D and mab, who scored their first point and a special mention for my mates Chimer and Cashy, who are still Nul Points.....

Table so far:-

  • Haggis316 - 17
  • Greger - 15
  • ossy kid - 15
  • VALAIRIAN - 11
  • Mike A - 9
  • choirboy - 7
  • Chubbyman - 6
  • Kiwi John - six
  • pifco - VI
  • teach - 110
  • Div3North - 5

Next up an away trip to the team who inspired "the Old Lady" to wear black and white

Let us hope that Stanley are inspired to their first win of the season

"Come on Stanley"

I was going to go for the Abbott and Costello link, but decided that Elvis was better

Re: 2024/25 Prediction League Game 5 v Colchester United (home)

Still getting to grips with this

ossy kid got it spot on with the 1-1 prediction - maximum points

Div3North was the only other real scorer guessing 2-2 - 4 points

12 of us got a point for the 1 goal scored by Stanley
