50/50 Draw
I've had a thought about this for a while and I think it could be beneficial to the club if they halved the cost of the tickets to 50p each, no i'm not a tight git, I always buy 2 tickets (£2) but if they were 50p each, as there's 5 tickets per strip on the raffle ticket books I would buy a full strip, sure there's some that just buy 1 ticket, can't see them just buying one for 50p so they would most likely stick to their usual £1 spend or possibly buy 3 for £1.50, maybe people that don't usually buy one might if there only 50p.
Whats your thoughts on this?
Club could very easily try it out one week and compare the takings

Re: 50/50 Draw
If theres 5 then the sale would be 50p or a strip of 5 for 2 quid..
Cant see any reason not to try stuff like that...

If they did 5 for £2 then they wouldn't be gaining anything would they? well not from me cause I usually spend the £2 on 2 tickets, they may get extra sales, i'd be prepared to pay the 50p a ticket 5 for £2.50

Re: 50/50 Draw
Here we go......OK, I know the girls, by sight who sells the 50/50 draw tickets so I have no excuse, but all too often people walk passed a group and then say 50/50 draw when there half way down the terraces, they must miss out on a number of punters who have their hands in their pockets. It’s the same with other collections; people seem to be afraid or embarrassed to shout it out.
If you want money out of people these day’s you have to ask for it, sometimes it pays to be more up front and aggressive, Kisser, if you tell me I’m a tight sod I’d buy more.
To make a point, a nice Lady and Gentleman invited me to make a donation on Saturday; the bucket was vigorously rattled and raised to make it easier for me to put my money in…….
Other than that, I have to agree, we should be trying anything that has the potential to work.

Re: 50/50 Draw
Another thing, I usually get mine before going onto the terrace, then you see them selling on there and I don't buy one cause I already got them, getting one ticket for £1 doesn't seem to be getting you much, get 2 for £1 and you getting twice as much for your money so I "could" be tempted into buying another 2

Re: 50/50 Draw
As I sell the tickets on the away end, I have to say, I am in the fans faces as they come through the turnstiles. However, the big problem is that fans will only part with hard earned cash if they want to. Walsall brought a huge following and the whole bunch of them spent just over £30 on tickets. MK Dons fans though not great in numbers bought £70 quids worth. Kisser and Kate are in your faces when you come through the turnstiles into the main stand, however, I am not sure if we have a seller on the home end, maybe someone would like to volunteer? You just have to be loud and proud about selling the tickets (and a little mad to stand out in the foul weather)
Another thing, If I took £70 quid on the away end, then Kate and Kisser took about £340 quid out of the home fans therefore not a bad return for the lowest crowd of the season!

Re: 50/50 Draw
I would say that the main problem with the draw is there aren't enough ticket sellers. Outback Ozzy, Freda and myself are selling tickets before the game and Kisser sells them when the match has started, after she's finished selling programmes. Ideally, I would say we needed three more ticket sellers.
The problem with being "up front and aggressive" is that to some people, it's rude. I'm sure Ronnie considered himself up front and aggressive, but most people thought he was rude and ill-mannered and he alienated potential ticket buyers.
Perhaps I could be more aggressive, but I work on the assumption that if people want to buy a ticket, they will.
I reckon the original suggestion was a good one, if we're using books of raffle tickets rather than specially printed 50/50 draw tickets then it might be better to offer a strip of tickets rather individual ones. It'd certainly be easier to rip them from the book!!!
