Every newspaper, and every site I saw, had 1100 as the crowd; the BBC site shows 1100 even now. I didn't actually think it was that many - where did the additional 228 suddenly come from?

I'm pretty sure most media suppliers get info from the BBC. So if the BBC gets it wrong then most outlets do too.

That's because we're super geniuses and just a little bit cheeky
The more volunteers we had the more we would sell...

You might sell more if people knew the winning number and who won, if you're in the noisy part of the Clayton End when the number is announced you have no chance of hearing it. The only time I heard who had won was when David O'Neill won.
PS Wear that skirt again and I will buy 10 off you, nice legs kisser.

I stand in the Clayton End and don't miss it, and neither do all the lads around me when they throw their tickets at me when they don't win! Dunno why you don't hear it, unless like it's been reported recently there's a problem with the tannoy? Just ask me next time and I'll tell ya. I also pin it up in the bar on both entrances and next to the bar.
Note to self - will have the skirt in mind next match

We must stand a little further to the left of you then Cashy. At the back. I don't think the speaker just above us is working, so we hardly hear anything from the tannoy, which is a blessing most of the time.

Re: 50/50 draw at the Chester game
Anyone know the winning ticket number on today's (Chesterfield) game? I couldn't hear a thing in the Cowshed, with that noisy lot near the centre line and a less-than-perfect tannoy ..............
By the way, which of the youngsters won the 22-a-side games; great fun, and some promising talent, but not a clue what was going on ............
