A Challenge to the Club

The Challenge is simple for a Tuesday Night Fixture where we would perhaps be lucky to push 1600 open it up with an offer for the whole community or season ticket holders of other Clubs or link it in to the launch of season tickets for next season by allowing season ticket holders to fetch a paying guest at a cheaper price.

Benefits:
Bums on seats or feet on terraces that wouldn't normally come
Money into the Bank that wouldn't normally be there
A good chance some would come back again
Sell extra merchandise programmes etc
Could link it in perhaps with an instore offer
Help build up the C3PO Database or whatever we have got for future offers
A chance to really market ourselves and come up with some imagintive promotion
Good Publicity
Better Atmosphere
Nothing to Lose
Maybe open the away end to home fans with any away fans in the Whinney Hill make it feel like old times

Downsides
Might cause one or two Gripes from ST Holders but for a one off maybe not

So come on ASFC "Help Roar us on to League One"

Exclamation Re: A Challenge to the Club

Barnet would bring about enough to be housed in the Cowshed, so could use the rest of the ground for "Home" fans, like the idea Google Page Ranking, it is one that I, along with many others have mentioned on more than one occasion!!!

As Valarian says, been suggesting this for ages!!

Lets do it aka Bury, but open it up to fans wearing shirts!! All newbies, all visitors £5; infact all walk ons a fiver!!! Even Barnet. Max they bring is 80 on a Tuesday night. We've already had £27k for beating them in the FA Cup, the odd £600 won't be missed!!

Make the Crown a sea of colour, roaring on the mighty reds!!

Re: A Challenge to the Club

Most Clubs have done this sort of thing in one guise or another Clarets last Season, Rovers this season with so many games for a set amount, I suppose you can argue that can be subsidised as well as Season Ticket Prices with money from the PL.

As the Credit Cunch bites deeper and peoples desposable income drops Clubs have to be more inventive in ways of getting Joe Public through their turnstiles.

It may be a one off but it may prove to be turning point for some who have been away or never been to the Crown Ground before in they may decide to come back that along with the Google Page Ranking it creates it has to be worth a go surely?

I think you could safely call it "Football for All"

If it was tenner then I would probably be more tempted than I am now. Because er indoors has now moved to the main stand it means £30 a time for us to both go now, can't afford that every time. I'm not going to say too much on the matter because there are other issues which make me not as tempted as I may be

Re: A Challenge to the Club

I think that the club should be looking at trying to attract some Burnley and Blackburn fans who dont get to see much midweek football anymore. To tap into this would potentially help to increase the fanbase over the long-term and would possibly persuade a few of them to buy season tickets due to the much cheaper cost. They should also start offering the upgrade for current season ticket holders to get a three course meal for £15 on a more consistent basis, this would help to put more money behind the bar.

The commercial lads should also be making sure that there is match sponsor for every game as well as a ground sponsor!

Fixtures
Friday 26th Feb 2010

Accrington Stanley v Burton Albion
Accrington Stanley will entertain Burton Albion on Tuesday 23rd March, kick off 7.45pm.

The game was originally due to be played this week but was called off due to a frozen pitch.

If not the Barnet game, then this match, the third of three home games in a week, would be an ideal chance to try it out!!!!!
