A lesson learned ?

Hi Guys, yes indeed did we all learn a lesson yesterday. Not least that Accrington Stanley are a very very good side and that Grays Athletic have a lot to learn about 'professional' football. Differences of opinion about team selection (what Mclean again !!) aside I felt we were out thought yesterday by a team who clearly came with a game plan and, given some pressure after the equalising goal, stuck to the plan to a man and it piad off. Many teams we have played this season would have buckled when we got level - fair do's, you didn't.

Oh, can can I just give a special mention to your left full back. He took a bit of stick from a certain moronic element of the Grays crowd throughout the game but just laughed it off - class !

Re: A lesson learned ?

Although I was held back to watch the tv performance, your guys made a game of it and although outperformed inthe first half your lads deserved due credit for keeping their heads up & showing why you are up in the top section of the Conf by how you came out in the second half. Your manager must have one hell of a good half time team talk. I saw your team at the first game at Burton & knew then you had something special. Yesterday was a credit to both teams & shows why more conf football should be televised- listen up Sky, the return home game must surely be one to be televised, Sat 1st April & won't be any fools joke. Your fans apparently gave our travelling fans only good things to say on their return & we trust we will show the same hospitality when you travel north-apart from on the pitch of course, after all we have been seeking a league return for longer that your guys, lol. And don't wory about your minority muppets, we've been to Hereford & Morecambe often enough!

Re: A lesson learned ?

I didn't say we would win. I said we were ready. And we were. Fair do's, we were beaten by the better side, no excuses. I didn't feel Grays played badly but Stanley had a job to do and they did it. Incidently I thought the Ref was appalling, missed both penalty shouts and the sending off was a joke.

the ref was fine for the first 20 mins; then realised he was on tele and started getting whistle-happy!
shocking.
