Natalie has been with the club since July 2007, she works on the reception in the main Stanley offices tucked away behind a little desk where you can only see her head popping out of: “I’ve been at Stanley for about 7 months now, and its going ok.”
Natalie is one of the quieter members of the Accrington Stanley team but she gets to do a fair share of talking when dealing with customers who ring up the club.
“My main duties are to sort out the programme subscriptions for the fans who order the programmes. I am also the main person who all the telephone calls come through to, so I get to speak to everyone which improves my communication skills. Other than that I just do general admin duties.”
Since starting at the club last July Natalie has got good and a bad point about her job but believes that there are more positives than negatives: “The best part is that I get to improve my communication skills with customers that ring up the club, I learn how to address people better. There are plenty of people coming to the ground so I also meet customers face to face. The worst part of the job is dealing with customers who I can’t communicate with.”
There are not always nice people when dealing with the public but Natalie manages to deal with them all quite well but she has had her fair share of aggressive customers: “I had a customer a few weeks back who had a complaint to make about the club; he was very aggressive towards me so I don’t like those types of customers.”
Natalie would also change a few things about her job as some times it can be quite difficult to handle: “I find it hard sometimes when I get customers who ring and I can’t solve their problem. I like to try and help every person that rings or comes into the office.”
While Natalie is in a job at the moment she dreams that one day she will get to do her dream job overseas: “I would like to be a Marine Biologist in Florida that would be my dream job.” Natalie is a supporter of Accrington Stanley but also supports Blackburn Rovers.
