A Yorkshire sense of humour?

On their self-styled but meaningless "Yorkshire Day", I thought some of you might be interested to see one of the predictions for the coming season from the Yorkshire Evening Post. I really think Coley should post this in the Stanley dressing room, especially before the matches against Bradford City!

Accrington Stanley – who are they? That's what football league fans will be asking after the end of the season with a side choc full of low budget, low quality journeymen. They are sure to make the drop this time.

The same was said of Blackpool in the Championship last season. Team spirit can take you a long way. I believe Stanley have bucket loads of the stuff.

The fact that a team like Bradford finished below us last season must make them hurt i think!

Silly piece tbh! Sean Hessey key man? Have they ever seen Jimmy Ryan? I wouldnt even rise to this , its just pathetic!

That's a bit rich coming from any Yorkshire newspaper, don't really break any pots in the footy world these days

Re: A Yorkshire sense of humour?

Yes but there was praise for Stanley as well in the sister paper the Yorkshire Post

Stanley were mentioned amongst Rotherham's competition by Terry Dolan a well respected Yorkshire Club manager with a long pedigree with Bradford

"Accrington did well for most of last season"

Rotherham are the team to catch, with Bradford just behind - Yorkshire Post
