Accrington Stanley Exhibition
As you may, or may not, know I've been talking with Heritage Lottery funding recently about a Pals project. Whilst there the subject of an Accrington Stanley exhibition came up and got them very excited.
The supporters club is very keen to get something off the ground so I said that I would help them get the money for it.
At the moment the application hasn't been written (or even started) so everything is open to ideas i.e. name, venue, content, whether it's permanent, temporary, etc - absolutely nothing has been discussed apart from the general idea that there should be some sort of exhibition held later this year to mark Stanley's rise into the league.
So use this thread to put down ideas of how you would like to see this organised.

Re: Accrington Stanley Exhibition
Excellent………Steering Group?
I’d like to see a travelling exhibition based in an old Accrington Corporation Transport Bus “With the Colours reversed”. Ok, it’s a little idyllic perhaps but I think if there’s money a foot we need to have a travelling Exhibition to get the most out of it.
Can I ask? what sort of presence of representation do we have at the Nation Football Museum at Preston?

You'd think that one of the country's if not the worlds most famous clubs would merit more than that........

Re: Accrington Stanley Exhibition
lets march on Parliament and have it changed.
If the terraces were covered then it could be in the fresh air (dry) on the ground of the club that it pertains to.
Failing that then the main room at the Town Hall

Re: Accrington Stanley Exhibition
I've arranged a meeting with Gayle at 3.00 pm on Friday 12th May .
Stanley supporters of all ages who possess a sense of history and a desire to make this project successful will be welcome ; this is one for "doers" , not talkers - although the recollections of individual fans can be very helpful.
We'll need to produce lots and lots of ideas, so please jot some down if you can before the meeting.
The venue is still to be finalised , but I thought it important to let you know the date and time a.s.a.p. Details of venue (in Accy) will follow.
If you plan to attend , please let me know at [email protected] as it will be useful to know how many will be present.
Sorry , but an evening meeting was just not possible .

Re: Accrington Stanley Exhibition
Well, we had the meeting and it was agreed that we would try to get funding to hold a big exhibition of Accrington Stanley's history and memorabilia.
There's still a lot of stuff to do before we can go for funding but the main thing is to decide what to call the project.
So this is something that we'd like the combined minds of the message board to think of - what would be a good name for an exhibition?

Re: Accrington Stanley Exhibition
Typical local officials. Loads of things to do, but the most important thing is to think of a name. Probably take 2 years of further meetings to decide.
