Re: Accrington -v- Blackpool

I wonder what the record is for amount of penalities saved in the cup in one season by the same keeper. Rob is gonna break it by the time we get to the final (3 more games)

Re: Accrington -v- Blackpool

Have to say the funniest bit was when the blackpool fans started to cheer everytime their player got the ball, 3 kicks later we got possession so we started to cheer each pass..few passes later.......

GOAL TO STANLEY

their fans never bothered after that, wonder why???

Re: Accrington -v- Blackpool

Having just got back from a thoroughly enthralling match played by two teams who wanted to play football, all I can say is to those stay away supporters - you missed a hell of a match. Pity the ref and his assistants couldn't live up to the billing though. I couldn't see anything wrong with the first disallowed goal from a Craney corner early in the first half, but the penalty never was for Blackpool (Mr Parker diving all over the place - has he had lessons off Rory?) and the fourth was a foul on our Rob but hey ho who cares - once more King Robbie Elliot to the rescue. Robbie Williams fourth equaliser was a bit special too. Crowd was just over 1,300 (quite a good following from Blackpool about 500 maybe more - it wasn't announced). Bring on the next team only please can we do it in normal time - this is doing my ticker no good at all.

I was stood with two Blackpool fans one from work, and his Daughter, on the Clayton end. It was funny watching them trying not to cheer when Blackpool scored.

Unfortunately Not !

This was one hell of a game, I think we can be very proud of our boys, Blackpool were out to win for sure and they showed plenty of talent and flair but Stanley showed it right back at `em. The undauntable never say die attitude again shining through. With 5 to go and most of the crowd thinking its over they dug in and set about squaring it up. 4 goals against league 1 opposition has gotta fire some confidence into our strike force, and shut up doubters thinking we can`t score without Roberts.

Home to Donny next round please
