Re: Adult Flexi Ticket
Well all I know is I'll certainly be taking this offer up. I understand what the season ticket holders are saying but Stanley is not the only club to do this kind of thing - Rovers went down exactly the same route of offering mid-season deals and had the same complaints from their own season ticket holders. It's a fair deal aimed at increasing support, its not like all the remaining matches will be half price or something.
I have never had a season ticket because I know that I'll miss a few matches because of work commitments (particularly on Friday nights!) and I can't afford to spend so much knowing that I'll not be there. This allows for some flexibility but increases the commitment of otherwise less committed fans.

Re: Adult Flexi Ticket
the point is that the new deal isnt actually as good as the season ticket price anyway. so its like buying a tv in the summer sale, then seeing it go up in price (u got a good deal!) before being offered at a reduced (but still greater than you paid) price with HALF PRICE dvd player.
however, had you bought the dvd player at FULL PRICE when you originally got the tv, you would STILL HAVE GOT IT CHEAPER THAN THE NEW OFFER. how can you possibly complain?

Re: Adult Flexi Ticket
This debate can go round & round in circles forever - existing season ticket holders and non season ticket holders are never going to agree on this, yes it's a brilliant idea & good luck to all who buy one but a lot of people are never gonna be happy about it.

Re: Adult Flexi Ticket
The only way to know if this was a good idea will be next season when they are asking fans to purchase new season tickets, my view is it will be less than the 118 bought this season.

There were more than 118 bought this season, that was the figure quoted at the start of the season for full season tickets, there was the concessions on top of that and more people bought them before the first home game. At the start of the season is when Clubs need money the most (for signing players etc.) I would hope that all current season ticket holders will renew theirs next season and so SUPPORT the Club. After all you are not supposed to be in it for what you can get out of it.

Re: Adult Flexi Ticket
For me, it's quite clear that 'supporting the club' is not the singular reason for buying a season ticket. It works out cheaper if I attend all the games, which I probably will. Does that make me any less of a supporter, that I want value for money?
I support Accrington Stanley, always have done and always will, but does that mean the club can take my money up front and offer new deals later on which in turn devalue my purchase somewhat?
I would've been totally in favour of the offer had it arose pre-season. All I am annoyed at is the persistent lack of forethought and decent treatment of ASFC season ticket holders.
That's my opinion on the matter, it shan't change. Don't try and preach to me, telling me the 'correct way' to support my team. If you do, I'd urge you to politely get back in your respective holes.

Jeff I know there was, I was just using the number the elitists are using on this forum 200/118.

Re: Adult Flexi Ticket
Well, it's great for season ticket holders that haven't already bought a shirt as a Chrimbo present!

Re: Adult Flexi Ticket
I'm hoping it applies to away shirts...or am I expecting too much?

Re: Adult Flexi Ticket
Flexi ticket is a brilliant move but i wont be getting one as out of the remaining games i can only at best do maybe 8 or 9 because of working away from home, if this offer came up at the start of the season, say 15 Flexi tickets then i would definately get one, which is not as much money in the clubs coffers as a season ticket but it would be extra money upfront that they would not otherwise have had, i suspect that these would do quite well as oppossed to season tickets, because for those of us that either know we will miss games for whatever reason or that we cant cough up the amount of a full season ticket it would be another option.
Good move by the club.
