Re: AFC Fylde........

As the half way point of the first half arrived, Dave Challinor's side pressed home their superiority with a fourth when despite the best efforts of Hatch Dean's shot fell to Michael Barnes who found the back of the net.
Mick is a top lad who was on the books at Man U for several years, he once had a trial with us under Coley and he is now a Tree Surgeon with Cornthwaite Tree Care an playing for Fylde Part time :-)

Re: AFC Fylde........

Lowely, was talking about Barnsey last night.
Dean played against him when he was at man utd,and i am sure he played and scored for there first team in the carling cup.
Its one of lifes great mysteries why hes still at fylde, can only presume hes got a decent buisness, and football is secondary to him.
Hes got pace to and can play left and right, still a quality player and a good football brain.
I am a bit worried me and smudgie are agreeing on most things at the moment as i too thought the left back(in the second half),did well,ie basic defending, and not thinking hes Ashley Cole !!.
To be fair, they had good shape and desire, and far too much experience for our lads

Re: AFC Fylde........

Fylde was a well practiced team whereas Stanley was a bunch of lads thrown together for a purpose.

It was a pleasant evening spent in beautiful countryside.

Re: AFC Fylde........

Was surprised to see Lewis Hatch played, was he right back in the first half???

I know he has been recovering from blisters which is why he missed the Blackburn game.

Our first half Left Back looked about 15

Re: AFC Fylde........

Think Lewis played all the game at right back, and is obviously comfortable on the ball, but has to work hard on his defending and positioning to start to progress to the next level.
Same with Bohan, hes one i have high hopes for,but has to learn quickly about positioning and switching off.
Must admit our left back in the first half was stitched up completely by his team mates,in terms of helping him.
I would have said he looked 13 not 15 !!!!

Re: AFC Fylde........

Was chatting to him on twitter, he was gutted.

First 90 minutes he has played for a LONG time though.

Told him to take his anger out on Padiham on Saturday, as no doubt most of them will be playing there.

Re: AFC Fylde........

Fyldes cf was indeed James Dean formerly of Halifax. He's only just joined fylde this preseason, and he lives in the hyndburn area I believe. However he has had some well documented problems with his knees over the past 3 or 4 seasons (tendonitis stuff I think) and as such he would be a bit of a gamble.
