And the answer is, no chances created and another loss. The writing is on the wall and however 'positive' we try to be, there is no hiding from the fact that we aren't good enough.

Re: Alan Rogers
Notts County were crap though and they were there fpr the taking. Except for bits of interplay involving Todd an A.N. OTHER there was little or no football played. We keep trying to put it over the heads of defenders and play in expert passes rather than trying to play around them. Too often the ball is played and two players run on for it only for the defender to easily intercept and then play forward when we are two men lighter.
Mullin is still good enough but he is constantly doing the job of two or three others, he was still running and closing down on the wing with only seconds to go. The midfield is the biggest problem and always has been. I like Proccy and have been one of his biggest advocators...... but it aint happening for him this year. The full backs are not supporting the midfield adequately enough and this makes us lighter in that area but more importantly puts pressure straight back onto the defenders when play breaks down - which is does time and time again. Lets put people in there favoured positions firstly. Just because Rocky is one of the favoured centre backs does not make him our second choice midfielder for example, just because Boco can play midfield doesn't mean we should play our third choice striker and put Boco in midfield for example. Put the best player for that position in that position and then see whats left and try to bridge the gaps. I know we are heavy on injuries at the moment but we have been doing this all season long and it has done us nothing.
19 games left Mr Coleman, lets see what you've got

When we beat Wrexham the first time we were a different team. The cup wins are meaningless and we all know that. The League table doesn't lie. That team we have right now is not good enough for this league. It is a bottom half Conference team at best.

If being a Stanley fan means hiding my head in the sand and having blind faith, then obviously I am not a fan. Why do you care?

seems a long time ago right now.
I have no doubt that we will collect a few more wins before the end of the season. Where we end up though is anybody's guess right now.
I also have no doubt that next season will bring more highs than this one has no matter which league we are in.
I have no doubt that before the end of the season we will all be celebrating something Stanley and days like today will be forgotten.
I have no doubt that somebody will doubt me ....

Re: Alan Rogers
Stan-er-ly,
Its not often that T.M. and I agree, but on this occasion He IS right............we were bloody awful today, and if you could see your way to removing those Rose tinted glasses you must be wearing then you too would see what He means!
We all pay our money to watch, and in all honesty the performance today was not worth £13/£15/£8.........we were at best poor and at worst shambolic.
Rogers, IMHO, showed some class at times today, but the sending off was right for what was a stupid and extremely dangerous tackle, and then to come out swinging just exacerbated the problem......NO EXCUSE.
Finally, I'm sorry but I must question your command of the English language, do you actually know what the word 'immense' means?........

Re: Alan Rogers
Bury did us a big favour today. 2-0 down against torquay, scored 2 late on to snatch a draw. if torquay would have won, they would have been within 3points!
Also in the Bury times there was a letter from a bury season ticket holder who had gone to the game on boxing day against us. he said he was embarrassed by their fans behaviour as they were chanting rude things whilst the opera singer was singing nessun dorma. He was annoyed as we had helped them during their troubled times!
Everyday i look at the bbc website in the transfer section hoping for some new signings, i must look 10 times a day and i'm always bloody disappointed. It must be really hard to try and convince good players to come to the club. If you were Luke Rodgers for instance, would you come?
i didnt go to todays game so cant comment, sounds like we were poor

Re: Alan Rogers
Oh give it a rest.
All those results came at a time when everyone was fit and no-one had left for pastures new. Having Boco back today didn't give us the lift we had hoped for either but he's gonna need time to get back into it too.
Here's how I see the situation as it stands:-
Goalkeepers :- we have 2 very decent goalkeepers who are unfortunately making errors at the moment and seem to be lacking in confidence. I my opinion the exit of Andy Dibble and his coaching have been the prime reason for this, and we all know that Coley doesn't know what the hell to do with goalkeepers apart from shout at them and blame them for everything!!!
Defence :- Almost the same unit as last year, the problem for me appears to be the lack of consistancy. Last year the defence had someone to turn to in Cooky that they could ask questions and turn to for advice, this year they had Dibble, He's gone and now they're feeling the effects of their own lack of assurance on top of that of the goalkeepers lack of confidence. Can I just say as well that we've never had the best of defenses and Coleys reign is certainly not glowing with watertight defending!!! This year the mistakes are being punished, last year they weren't. Simple as.
Midfield :- For me this were our problems are at their biggest. We've all got to accept the loss of Gary and Ian has been mortally wounding, you don't just lose the player you lose there impact on the rest of the team and mostly their goals. We have some good players in replacement but I honestly don't think you can just replace players of that caliber and not miss them terribly. The problem is that we've replaced two fairly polished gems with two rough looking diamonds in Harris and Whalley, they're gonna need time to polish up and we haven't got it.
Strikers :- We haven't got a killer. We haven't got a guarenteed 20 goals a season man, we've got a few lads that will chip in with anything up to 10 a season and we've got mully who'll always provide a threat in the air and get us 15 or so goals. But we need a killer more than ever now as we're no longer going to get the goals from midfield that we've enjoyed for the last couple of seasons, I actually thought Leighton McGivern could be it but with him out for the season I now believe we're sadly lacking.
And then there's Mr Rogers, not quite the donkey a few of you are making him out to be, I thought he was lucky to get away with a few things in the first half but generally he kept the back line talking and his reading of the game was probably the best on the park today, if we're going to survive we may need all the experience he carries with him. However, the tackle that saw him sent is probably the worst I've seem on the FES in a good many years and if his experience is to count for anything then he needs to learn that relegation dogfight doesn't actually mean put your fists up son your next!!! The jury is out, I just hope we're not.

Re: Alan Rogers
Rogers looked good to me today before the red mist came down. What on earth was the Radio Lancashire bloke on about after the match? "County defender's bad tackle and Rogers raised arm".
What we are crying out for is a holding midfielder instead of the present crash bang wallop tactic, although I am hoping Harris can take this role on when available.
County were crap but have a big, strong, fast defence - the type which we are finding difficult to break down after the loss of our 2 quality players.
Elliott redeemed himself for his error with some good saves in the second half, but will we ever have a goalie who is reliable enough?
We have never satifactorily replaced Jamie Speare in my opinion.
Good job other results went for us today - how can we get 3 points on Tuesday with yet another re-scrambled defence? By the way, where was Rikki Bains today?

Don't tell me Coley sacrificed him in order to play Richardson at right back?
