Alan Rogers on loan ????

On Sky Sports.com
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nottingham Forest full back Alan Rogers looks set to move to Conference club Accrington Stanley in a loan switch.
Rogers has been cold shouldered this term by Forest boss Gary Megson and has not made a single appearance for the club's first team.
Reports are now suggesting that Rogers, who can operate both in defence and midfield, will seek to rejuvenate his somewhat stagnated career by moving to the Conference leaders.
The 28-year-old trained with Millwall in October but having failed to win a permanent stay at The Den, is now to seek pastures new. At the start of the campaign Stoke showed tentative interest but for the moment it would appear that a temporary switch to Accrington is on the cards

Re: Alan Rogers on loan ????

I hope he operates down the right; we do need another pair of legs down that flank so Jaggers could maybe play in his actual position of centre mid for once?
Premiership & Championship players in the Stanley team.......we ARE going places

Re: Alan Rogers on loan ????

He plays on the left. Was originally signed by Forest for £2.5m to take over from Stuart Pearce, but was moved into a left wing-back position later.

Not the signing I would have expected, unless Leam Richardson has still to sign a new contract ... or, dare I say it, Gary Roberts needs replacing.

hmm.....I agree there WR but you can never have too many left pegged players in your squad. It is a really good signing, if a little unprecidented.

Re: Alan Rogers on loan ????

Alan Rogers was training with the Stanley squad earlier in the season. He had been frozen out by Megson, and rather than train on his own ,trained with the stanley down at Wilsons. Looked very good when I saw him, I would have thought too good to be playing Conference standard, but one never knows, would be an excellent loan.

Gary can also play on the right (as seen when cav and him swap) so could be a good signing!

Re: Alan Rogers on loan ????

I agree with the great signing comments. The lad will have bags of experience when it gets to crunch time in this league, i heard he was on trial earlier in the season..

Re: Alan Rogers on loan ????

I feel we have missed out on this one, just seen on teletex,he has gone on trial to Hull City, with a view to a loan until the end of the season. Seems like Coley has missed out again
