Re: Aldershot Thread
Back home in Pompey - a bit disappointed 'cos we were the better team in the first half by a huge margin, snapping intoi tackles and winning the 40-60s. Boulding looked good and pacy but slowed up after being dragged back by their no 5 when he looked in for a winner - think this is the "stonewall panalty" referred to above.
High point for me seeing Sean Mac battling his way through a triple-teamed attempt to stop him - much stronger on the ball than I've ever seen him look before (OK I don't see him that often). Craney great for 70 mins but looked a bit tired from then on. Jimmy Ryan working his rocks off and Hessey's interception and drive forward to set up the goal superb.
All only my opinion of course ...
99 Stanley fans (well 98 and my missus' friend who we dragged along)

Re: Aldershot Thread
Well another decent but long bloody trip.
Agreed with most of the above, we really should have had all 3 points, but its another solid away point, win our home games and there is a chance!!!
Not sure about your opinion of Craney, I personally thought he was very average indeed, again , surely its time to bring Barnett back in or give Razor a shot??
Big positive that Boulding scored, he looked sharp and it was a great finish.
Bring on the Bulls

Re: Aldershot Thread
Well since I was in London and saw the supporters coach on the services on the toll road, I was jealous. However, I had to do the 'march against cuts' because I believe in that. Next though, Stanley come first. I agree with others , 1 pt away and 3 at home will do us to the end of the season, even if we win games in hand, Stanley will be there or there abouts. Bring on the Bulls.Someone must suffer for our play soon!

Re: Aldershot Thread
Well the match was as flat as a pancake but what an epic away day
Football-wise: I think if we'd have had Gornell we'd have won the game. Thought Boulding's goal was a good finish but aside from that he was very, very poor. His positional sense was absent, as was his first touch. This is why I believe Craney looked to have a 'bad game'; he had nothing to aim at with his forward passing as Boulding was just not in the game either side of the goal. He may be a useful resource as a second striker but he is not a centre-forward. Lindfield for the next game (if Gornell is out) please. He is weak physically but has much more natural quality than Boulding. Rant over!
I will take a point away from home any day of the week, especially when our home form is so good.

Re: Aldershot Thread
Bit harsh on Boulding I think IMO. He scored a great goal and considering he has hardly played this season I thought he did a decent job. He was knackered after an hour which wasnt a surprise either considering the warm weather and the fact he was playing up top on his own.
Long as a striker scores and gives the defence a headache he has done his job.
