After looking hard, but not finding the previous post for music for the team to run out to, I'm just wondering, having not posted in the previous thread, what folks think of what of what's been bugging me for a while......
With the obvious Scouse / Liverpudlian connection to our club and added to the fact that, although the milk marketing advert made us the butt of a nationwide "joke" for years (although it made the club vital revenue) What about running out to what some may consider the "Anfield Anthem" ???
I refer of course to Gerry and the Pacemakers version of " You'll never walk alone" which as I'm sure many may be aware has also been adopted by Glasgow Celtic. I am sure that the Ultras (Along with all others that see fit to join in)would be able to replicate, albeit on a smaller version, the atmosphere generated at Anfield or Parkhead. Flags, banners, scarves accompanying this would show just how passionate we are for the cause. I'm not knocking the Celtic Cross anthem, but given the fact that we have a Scouse manager and assistant and numerous playing staff originate from the Merseyside vicinity, maybe this would serve as a little extra motivation for the lads??
For one that stands as a regular on the Clayton End,bear in mind my next statement. (and it's just my opinion!!) What we may lack in numbers (at the present) we more than make up for with the passion and commitment showed when backing our team. This may (or may not!) strike a chord with the current players and management and motivate,it may (or may not?) intimidate, bemuse or motivate the opposition, but maybe it's worth a try??
Any thoughts??
