Andy Mangan

Apparently he is on trial with Morecambe FC. My daughter has now changed her allegiance. Aren't girls fickle!!

Re: Andy Mangan

Have Morecambe signed anyone yet? Are they struggling a bit on the transfer front?

They must be struggling if they're after Mangy! My money's on him going to Sligo with Danny - after all you can't have Zig without Zag

Re: Andy Mangan

I fear for Morecambe this season, only one new signing up to now and they have apparently lost Chris "Jesus" Blackburn to Swindon according to BBC Radio Lancs. I don't think Mangy will be enough to kep them up.

Re: Andy Mangan

Can't say I know much about this lad..other than I understand he has a bit of a temper!

As for signings, Sammy Mc has got at least 4 other targets we are after but he's not prepared to bring in anybody just for the sake of it.

With Jesus probably off to Swindon his replacement will be somebody currently with a league club. Jesus will be missed but as one chapter closes another opens, as you will find when Mullin goes.

Re: Andy Mangan

good luck with Mangan and good luck to him.

He's a real character within the dressing room but that appears to be it. Fast little ****** with a decent shot on him but he struggles with any kind of presence and a mobile defender should keep him in check. The most disappointing thing about him is what surely sealed his fate away from here, too gobby for his own good. The chips were down frequently last season and Mangy let us down by getting sent off for nothing. It wasn't just the fact that we then went down to ten men when we had a chance of getting something from the game, but that we consequently lost another member of the squad when we could ill afford to.

When he learns some discipline and when he gets a good run of games (will one come with the other?) then he will start to turn into a good forward, but maybe not at this level.

Goes where? Chester couldn't get him for cash plus half their squad on deadline day, is because we can hold onto our best player or is it just the old sour grapes again?

And don't bother mentioning craney or roberts, Mullin is twice the player they are.

Re: Andy Mangan

Mullin will go where and when we want him to. Be it the chippie and back or Sligo Rovers!

Re: Andy Mangan

Hey Spud,
You misunderstood my comment about Mullin. I was not implying that he was about to go, what I was implying was that life goes on WHOEVER leaves. Accy will not crumble when he leaves. Just as we wont crumble IF Jesus leaves and he hasn't signed...yet, but it's highly likely.

Life went on after Craney and Roberts went...didn't it?

I wouldn't worry too much. You lost Crainey and Roberts yet still managed to stay up.

Matthew Blinkhorn and Michael Twiss were always going to be our first choice strike partnership so losing Danny Carlton isn't as big a loss as you may think. Losing Chris Blackburn is a huge loss but one player doesn't make a team and I am confident we will be able to get a suitable replacement. Sammy hasn't made a bad signing yet for us.

If we are after Mangan then I would imagine he will be used as cover for our other strikers.

Re: Andy Mangan

Mangan, One of the nicest people you will ever hope to meet. always smiling.. On the pitch he will be the fastest player you have ever seen. He can run down a ball your best player gave up. I really do mean fast.. He gets sent off for his gob. not for his play. Tape his mouth up and you have a good un.

Mullin. we will lose him sooner than people realise. Look at his age. We won't lose him to another club. He will retire when he has had enough. Every season he comes back is a bonus. Fingers crossed this sin't his last.

Good luck this season Morecambe. I hope you stay up..Honestly.. I like the friendly rivalry. Dont forget.. pics from every club in the league from last season on the fishy stanley web site

As we found last season and continue to find this summer, having targets and landing them are different things. There are teams in L2 with big budgets and many players seem unwilling to join smaller, 'new' boys.

In that case you are making a good point.
