Re: Another Ex red at Fleetwood
well to be honest I was slurring his character (not that it needed it) as it would seem that he has chosen the money at Fleetwood, like others have done (Miles, Cav, Anthony Barry who all had offers of staying in the League).
Like you say, nobody knows whether the offer from Luton was concrete, or if anything else was on the table, but a move to the south wouldn't have fazed him after he moved to Forest Green to resurrect his career. He is a young lad who has had a couple of very good seasons in the Conference and most people would have expected him to advance his career with a move upwards.
Should the bubble burst at Fleetwood and Sheik Mohammed El Codhead pulls his money out of the club then there will be tears before bedtime from a lot of the players who have chosen money over ambition. Fleetwood put a hell of a lot into the squad last year and ended falling way short and only just scraped into the play offs in the end, money doesn't buy success at that level and there are too many ego's trying to be satisfied. I'm expecting more of the same from them next season.
To go back a bit and re-mention Mangans character, I personally would be prepared to forgive and forget with that particular individual as he was a (very) young lad, didn't bet against his own side, and has done more than serve his time. He offered his services to the FA as an advisor of some sort, going around the academies and warning against the various pitfalls that are on offer to professional footballers. Lesson learnt for him and I wish him a successful career ahead.
