Re: Apathy

Thanks guys for all the positive posts on this thread.

I was, and still am very disheartend by last night's turnout, however thanks must go to all of you who did attend and to all that brought something for the raffle as well.

I think that the evening was a success in so much that Carl did a great job under very difficult circumstances, and everyone who was there said how much they enjoyed it.

I will try to do something else later on this year but not sure what yet!

Pete

Re: Apathy

I really feel for you guys, when Macca was trying to get elected I listened to his ideas and although I thought he was over the top on some things I turned up at OSC meets to get him elected.
Now it's a few months on and I have watched and read with interest how things have gone. Good ideas fail to attract the interest they deserve, your time and effort seems to go unrewarded. So I ask you why do you do it and is it worth it, as I see it all people seem to want barring a few is a badge and card.
Macca and OSC committee carry on if you like but from where I stand it looks a pointless exercise.

Re: Apathy

i dont think it is pointless look at all the good that has come out of it ie rochdale buses etc everything at this time of year is a wash out people saving up and paying bills youve got to work out when people have got more pounds to spend ie end of the council tax year and things anyway im going to be joining soon as the wife gets a day job so i can come to the meetings

Re: Apathy

There is always some excuse, all genuine but that's not the point.

Macca could have got the Rochdale buses even if he hadn't been Chairman of the OSC.

I'm not saying he is doing a bad job I'm just questioning is it worth the stress when nobody seems to give a toss.
