Re: Barnet live on the radio?
I've posted summat to this effect on the "Barnet Game" thread, but it's probably worth a recap. The fact that we couldn't do full match commentary had nothing to do with the Burnley game, or anything at our end.
Barnet are a great club and I like making the trip down there, but their press facilities leave a lot to be desired. Normally we would have commentary on ISDN (the clear quality you usually get for the full matches) but there are no ISDN points (or at least none that the peasants of commercial radio are permitted to use - cheers Auntie Beeb) and our fall back option is to use an ordinary phoneline (2/3 of the quality of ISDN) but yep, there were none of those either...
So what we ended up doing was using a mobile phone SIM card. The broadcast quality of this is pretty poor, and it's a bit like making a call when you only have one bar of signal - it can drop and disconnect at any time.
The last 10/15 minutes of the game were really on a wing and a prayer - I hope it stayed in and was understandable!
I only really come on here to tell you about the coverage, and I assure you that when we can bring you commentary we will, and I'll let you know and if we can't bring you commentary then we'll bring you the best coverage we can.
Hope that's ok...
