Barnet Match Thread
The biggest game of this or any season in recent memory.
If Leam can’t motivate the players, get across his point of view or make them understand the severity of the situation we are currently in, then may I suggest the following.
Have a walk down to the Clayton End at 2.30pm on Saturday afternoon, pull half a dozen regulars out and take them down to the dressing room to give the players a team talk on your behalf. I am quite sure there would be no shortage of volunteers.
Let them explain what Accrington Stanley means to them. Be it dancing on the pitch at Woking, travelling to Worcester on a foggy Monday night, drinking the Crown dry before the Farsley game even kicked off.
The sort of fans who have pumped their hard-earned cash into the club for a generation.
The sort of people who have followed our great club to the far flung outposts of the lower leagues, providing support that never waivers and constantly being our 12th man.
The sort or people who have backed Accrington Stanley during the dark days of the tax bill and the DON fiasco.
The sort of people who literally built their own Football League Ground.
The sort of people who will still be supporting the club when this set of players have long since departed over the horizon.
The sort of people who witnessed their beloved club die in 62.
The sort of people who would never let this club die again.
If you can’t do it Leam, then let one of us try.

Re: Barnet Match Thread
Stevenage have recalled Lopez (scored a hat trick against Morecambe on saturday) and some other fella whose name escapes me. Perfect timing.
Biggest game in a VERY long time this weekend, imperative to take 3 points or Barnet will be away from us and the relegation pack gets smaller and smaller.

Re: Barnet Match Thread
No matter who is playing, any player that will not die fer the cause in these next 2 matches, should never wear a RED SHIRT again IMHO. We need summat to fight to the death wi. simple as.

Re: Barnet Match Thread
This would be my starting 11 for the Barnet match.
Rachubka
Hunt Aldred Winnard Liddle
Murphy
Boco Lingazi Molyneux
Gray Beattie
We have to go for it. Play at a high tempo. Get stuck in. The back 4 and Murphy are more than capable of keeping Barnet out. The front 5 have to go and win us the game.
Murphy, Winnard and Boco are Stanley through and through. They should be really vocal about what being at Stanley over the half decade means.
I'd tell Gray to go out there and run himself into the ground for an hour. Every time their back 4 has the ball he has to be all over them, forcing them to kick it long.
Nicky Hunt is a good player. But he should know, that if he wants to play at a higher level again he needs to be part of a side that stayed up, not one that went down.
Liddle and Moly should run their right side ragged. Push forward and don't let them attack down our left.
From the few games I've managed to get to this season, it is patently clear that we have enough to stay up. We just haven't been ruthless enough. If you get a chance to shoot, leather it, aim to take the net off the goal.
When we have the ball in the midfield, keep it. Boco and Moly will be in decent positions out wide to receive the ball. Beattie needs to permanently show for the ball. Gray make runs forward, stretch their centre halves out of position.
I think we can be good enough to beat teams like Barnet. I just hope the lads show it.
