Barrow match thread

Is this the way now then??

Keep Kiwi away and NOBODY starts a match thread until after we have won?

Afraid so, think we are all at the game. Great result...first time we've won 3 on the bounce since October 2023.

Re: Barrow match thread

Add in my lucky boots and we’re onto something, Val.
Great battling performance from the entire squad today. Thought Barrow played a crisp passing game that looked good, but didn’t produce many more chances than Stanley did. And those they had were either saved by Billy Crellin or blocked by one of the defenders.
So pleased for Shaun to get such a well taken goal after his recent near misses.
Well done to all the management and squad.
Pity there were just 1700 or so willing to get out of bed or off their sofa to support Stanley (their loss)

Re: Barrow match thread

Brilliant result after a resolute performance from our boys - fully deserved, B*****w may have had more possession but it counts for nothing if you can't hit the back o' the net
Faz, bless him - stopping that shot with his face, just wow!!

Re: Barrow match thread

Good win, great goal, battling performance. Knowles pass to Shaun was brilliant!

But I thought we were unnecessarily defensive at times. There was a sequence when Woods under no real pressure, from their half played the ball back into his own, followed by a few more quick back passes to Crellin who belted it into touch. You don’t win much playing like that. Five at the back plus Coyle is a little too unimaginative for me. I miss Dan Martin. He helped the midfield tick. Coyle does not.

On a more positive note, I like what I saw of Aljofree. I was a bit surprised by the omission of Love, but Aljofree did quite well imo. Back five looks like quite a decent set-up.

Re: Barrow match thread

Good game of football, we deserved the win

Clean sheet was great also

My man of the match was Connor, attacked/defended well, was involved in most things

He put in two fabulous crosses early on, which should have resulted in goals

Pleased also for Shaun
