The rumour mill is one thing in Football you can never stop unfortunately

Ferguson unlikely as Blackpool look for fresh start - Blackpool Gazette

Quote:
James Beattie is not on Oyston’s shortlist despite the Accrington Stanley boss being linked with the Pool job in the national press yesterday.

Re: beattie for blackpool ?

Rumour has to be tempered with common sense.

The media have a lot to answer for but, with respect, a Championship club
chasing a newly qualified League 2 manager after his first season?!?!?

Hopefully Beattie's future is bright - in the future.

Also linked with Doncaster and Barnsley. But it depends whether you believe what they write in the Daily Star!

Especially the experience they have had with a rookie manager this season. I reckon they will go for 'extensive' experience

Doncaster director of football is a regular visitor to Stanley matches, though it's probably because I think he still lives in Burnley

Re: beattie for blackpool ?

We have a Manager who earlier in the season we are led to believe paid money to the tax man so he could sign a player. Does this sound like someone who first is short of money, or would be daft enough to work for the Oysten's at Blackpool. I don't doubt that he will move up in the football world but I also think he is clever enough to be selective when the move happens. Never forget he had a successful and no doubt well paid career as a player, plus he is intelligent.

I did rather hope that the smilies gave a clue that I was not being serious.
