Singing Red'n'White Army for the ENTIRE second half away to Morecambe in the Lancs Trophy, I was absolutely hoarse by the end, and still kept on singing...even though we got absolutely battered, and had Rory Prendergast and Dean Calcutt sent off.

Leaving Cambridge Uniteds ground after a 3-1 mauling, and singing as loud and proud as we could, inciting some cows in the process.

Travelling all the way to Colchester on a Tuesday night, not being allowed in the pubs when we got there, having to use some of the most foul toilets known to man (which were to be used by both men and women!), being spat at by Col U's animals, watching Coley get himself into a spot of bother at half-time, losing until very late on in the game and STILL we sang loud and proud.

At the end of the day, whether 10 or a 1000 turn up, whether we win, lose or draw, whether we've had a long or short journey, whether the match has been really important and fills us with dread and nerves, or whether we are playing in the mickey mouse cup, whether it rains or shines, whoever the opposition, wherever in the Country we are, whatevr we've put up with to get to the match and whatever we have to put up with at the match, we will always be as loud and proud as possible, and THAT is what makes us the greatest set of fans in football.

Its very easy to sing when you're winning, or to be loud when you've brought thousands. Unfortunately for varying reasons sometimes we end up out numbered. As deisel says we are always well behaved, loud & very very proud

thats why i quoted away to gateshead..we where 5-1 down and there was only one stand open and we where in with gatesehead.. thats why the non stop red/white army was a good and memorable one.. thanks jase i know its been done before and again... dont ask for good stories just to pour cold water on them... just read em and smile.

Unfortunatly I ahvent anymore... I was in the gateshead crowd and just went and stood with roy gab a couple of times to take pics... Now I dont get to join in with the singing

Chances are we will be outnumbered on monday so ya gonna need all ya can give .mate ... gerrum going

How about a shout out to the people who went to Barbados to follow ASFC, thats some away trip & I'd hazard a guess there aint another Non League set of fans that have done that.....

I think my favourite away day was at Aldershot, first game in first season in the Conference. The Shots made us really welcome, even going as far as to reprint the original programme from when we had played them in 1962 just before going out of the league. Even though we lost I was so proud of our lads that day - Procky's goal was immense. Poor Jamo though, the look on his face when he was sent off made me want to cry. A day of mixed emotions but still a brilliant day out

yeah Barbados was massive and there are so many stories to tell from there. The best story though that explains why we are the best fans and best little club is that no matter where we go in the world, the shirt is recognised and responded to. Nobody ever has a bad word to say about us after these meets neither. One such occasion was in Barbados, I was out kayaking in the sunny Carribean sea, after rowing for about a quarter of a mile or so through calm unobscured seas I was surprised to see a head pop out of the ocean. Thats right just me and a head (Life of Brian anybody?) in the middle of the ocean with the shore only just in sight.

"Cos I'm just a fan innit"

"Yeah right man, fans dont travel four tousand miles to watch de football man"

And then the head disappeared.

I remember going to an away game against Altrincham in the early 70's, I think it was when we were in the Cheshire League but I could be wrong, it was a cup game and we decided at the last minute to go, ie Friday night in the pub. I had an Austin 1100 that was great on the stright road but used to slow down a bit on hills but it was better then Andy's Anglia that had no reverse.
We decided to meet at the Bridge at 9 and set off stright away, of course after hangovers and everything we suddenly realised that there was 15 of us and they weren't all fitting in my car. So after much discussion Ronnie Hays and Andy (we reminded him he won't have to revese on the motorway) went and got their cars and we set off in convoy for an away day.
We got there and parked in a side street went to the game which was if I remember a cracking match with some really dirty play by Alty, whats new, at the time they were well above us in football terms, how the times have changed.
We decided to go for a pint before we went home so we found a pub on the road out of Alty and parked up, had a couple of pints and some pie and chips we also meet up with some Alty fans who we beat at pool and darts and we had a good night out, we left the pub singing about stanley and got ready to go home.
We went out to the carpark and some git had parked in front of Andys car and written all over the window "Stanley Losers" and "Alty rule" and the killer "Move it".
In a situation like that some drunk always knows the answer and the rest always go along with him.
So we decided to break in to the car and move it, this seemed easier then I would have thought and it also made me evalulate which friends I was hanging out with. When we got in to the car and moved it out of the way it was the decided that we should put it in the back corner of the carpark as far away as we could.
So we head off home and decided to meet at the Little (thief) Chef at Chorley I think it Charnock Richards now, just as we are getting there a cop car is behind me flashing and getting my attention, we pulled in and the cops were being really heavy and accusing us of stealing a car that belong to the deputy mayor of Alty and they going to throw the book at all football holligans in chesire.
We explained about the no reverse and the writting all over the car and we had moved the car to the back of the car park for a laugh, they checked it out and sure enough it all worked out. The cops told us that the DMayor took his bit on the side to that pub and we had really screwed up his night as he had had to call the cops and thought his official car had been nicked. The cops said the DM last words to them were "FU$$**g Accrington Stanley wish they had not reformed"
So the cops sent us off and they said "I don't think you lot will be coming back to Altrincham, we will be in division 4 soon."
When I come home and bump in to any of the guys, the first words are always "****ing Altrincham" "we will be in Division 4 soon".

Onje of my favourite memoriew was when we were 5-0 down to Telford at home in our first Conference season. All of a sudden Paul Mullin scored and the terrace broke out into a chrous of "1-5 to the Stanley boys". Pure Quality
