Re: Best moments of the season

the march from Peel Park at the begionning of the season was excellent. Watching the look on residents faces as we chanted our way past was great and seeing the kids running alongside was also heartwarming

The Notts Forest game was also good as we had our sights set much higher than a relegation battle at that moment and we truly believed for a rose tinted moment that we may trouble the top end of the league!

But the highest point of my season was Cavs' goal at home against Torkey because that was the goal that kept us in the league. I hadn't felt emotion like it for a long time and that goal meant as much to me as the first I ever saw, or Mully's goal at Woking, or Goucks' goal against Huddersfield. It was the icing on the cake of an action packed game that 4000 people saw for free.

For me, as I only got to one game this season, it also has to be Cavs freekick v Torquay. The relief when it flew in was just something else and I believe it was the start of the team being able to believe that we will ensure that there are 2 worse off teams in this league come 4.45pm on May 5th.

Enjoyed the march, but from my 3-games-so-far season, tops for me was the last 10 minutes chanting along with the drum at Watford. Sheer footy mania, even got the missus going !

Re: Best moments of the season

There are a few for me -
The chant at Chester "He's got his mums knickers, on his head" to the gobby Chester fan.
The Groundsman at Bury who didn't want the subs playing on his pitch at half time.
The fleet of Buses to Rochdale.
Welchies goal against Stockport.
But Like Macca said, Cav's goal against Torquay, in front of a full Clayton end. and taking 1 relegation place away from us.

Re: Best moments of the season

Torquay away was a great weekend, but I think Coley doing a Brian Kidd run into the centre circle after Toddy's last minute winner v Posh, is the one for me. That said it all, a celebration and shear relief knowing you are staying up.

For me the 2-1 home win v Barnet-our first goals and points of the season which proved we would be competitive.
The announcement that we were to be charged re player ineligability was a real low and the subsequent clearence a real REAL relief.

A close second for me was Steve Evans' face after the last minute winner at home to Boston.

Re: Best moments of the season

Cav's goal. Last minute and we get a freekick. A season full of almosts weighed heavy on any optimism that dared to escape me, however surrounded by 4000 a glimpse of hope sneaked out, the returning Stanley captain stepped up with quiet confidence. He hit the ball around the wall and senses stalled. For a few seconds I was stood still. Then the atmospere swallowed me, the relief of months of disapointment vanished in an instant. Pure bliss.

Isn't one of the female Stanley fans from round Harwood way specially trained for that sort of stuff ?

Re: Best moments of the season

The Peel Park March and the opening speech by some bloke called Macca, tear jerker for the faithful or what.

Welchies Cannonade at Stockport.

Stanley’s belated recovery to form.

Best moment - Our first League game away to Chester, nearly brought a tear to the eye

Worst moment - Losing so badly to Rochdale after taking so many fans and singing like buggery. We were awful on the pitch

Bittersweet moment - Getting my Stanley Tattoo done, so painful, but yet so great at the same time
