biggest under-acheiver at the club

who would you say has let us down the most over the years? I honestly can't think of that many players who have signed for us with big things expected and then they have failed to deliver - with the notable exception of Justin Jackson.

anyone?

Gary Dunford came with a massive reputation for scoring goals in the 80s, but I don't think he scored at all for us (DDevil will come along later with the stats....lol).

And what about Alan Rogers?

To be fair, Stretch did his job well - he was only there to make brews for Paul Cook - and he performed this duty admirably

Sean Doherty, Ian Craney (2nd stint) and my favourite Graham Branch.

Graham Branch was not an under-achiever, he was useless, lazy and a complete waste of ink on the team sheet and the programme.

As macca's post states, Justin Jackson's failure was incomparable, but I'd agree with those three Bagpuss.

Didn't Alan Rogers achieve a spectacular sending off against Notts County thereby enhancing his position in the esteem of their fans?

May be departing from the theme Paul Crichton appears to have an exalted position in the hall of fame. Does anyone have reminiscences of his time with the club?

Re: biggest under-acheiver at the club

I have nightmares about his 'gift' against morecambe. Free kick, simple catch and he decides to be cocky and control it on his chest, gets it all wrong and provides a simple tap in to the morcambe forward. What a prize pratt!!! As a keeper myself it is an impressive reminder to keep within your own limitations as a footballer!!!

Sorry, can't help with any reminiscences of Crichton - I tried but I seem to have repressed all memory of his time at Stanley
