Re: Blackburn Tonight.
Must have watched a different game, thought young Dawber showed massive potential.
Got the defenders playing from the back, very good kicking game, never saw him drop a ball.
How many of our previous keepers have caught the ball, sprinted to the edge of the area and throw the ball 60 yards to start the move for the second goal.
He only made one possible error all night,so to say he's not good enough is simply Rubbish.
First goal,Tom had no need to put a challenge in ( could hear the keepers call from the halfway line ! ) the second Joycy got pressed ( although dean was the better option)
The kid has massive potential and I predict in 12-18 months will play at an higher level

I agree. Perhaps they all wanted to watch the Commonwealth Games ceremony instead (not!). £15 quid admission must have put a lot off.

Re: Blackburn Tonight.
Don't expect Dawbs to start a lot this season, but I am confident he won't let anybody down.
He will learn from errors and will make him a better keeper.
He's defiantly got the basic tools, hence he's been on the radar of premier league clubs for a while.
Let's be fair he got a better kicking game already than Joe Hart !!

Hmmm Dawber not ready to start for stanley totaly out of his depths at the mo both goals for rovers are down to bad calls by our keeper!! IMHO First goal why come for a ball on the 18yd line and leave the goal gapping to which Dunne finished off from 25yrs out. Second if inbdout put your foot through it not pass it to Joycy who hadnt a hooe in hell in getting to it first. Stanley were the better side tonight and should have won the game easy. A exsperianced keeper is what we need and soon. On tonights shiwing Stanley will go straight up come end of the season

You never saw him drop a ball because he only caught one high ball all night. Corner after corner he allowed to whizz past at a comfortable catching height and was lucky to get away with it. His ridiculous pass out to Joyce was merely a repeat of an earlier clearance which put a defender in trouble. Oh, and he needs to grow about 6 inches too. Our replacement keeper seemed pretty good to me and might be worth a shout if we can't get Bettinelli back.

Re: Blackburn Tonight.
As always we disagree Redraine !!!.
Don't know about growing,he stands over six foot now and built like a tank !!
You now I always look at positives, great kicking game, can throw the ball a mile, good hands and not afraid of leaving his line ( collected a lot of balls on the edge of his box)
The sub keeper is an experienced pro and is obviously a decent lad, hope Dawbs listens and learns if we get him.
Going back to the game, thought Joycy and windlass were good in possession, and generally the back four kept their shape against decent forwards, lots of room for improvement, but things are looking rosy at the moment

Re: Blackburn Tonight.
Not being a regular attender, my complaint was that the lads had no name on their shirts, just a number, and that number was not given in the programme/ An excellent game. My man of the match was our No 11. Dawber didn't impress me. The
team did.

Squad numbers aren't decided until nearer the start of the season. Some of those shirts would only be worn once by a player if he is on trial, therefore the same shirt could be worn by several players during the friendlies

More people will go to league games but not friendlies. I know a few season ticket holders who won't go to friendlies. In real terms if they had been league or cup games , Blackburn and Burnley would have sold out in hours.

Re: Blackburn Tonight.
I think Dawber was at fault for both goals, and looked a little bit erratic in his decision-making all night. He's obviously got potential but you've got to judge keepers by the mistakes they make not just being tidy and kicking well. Personally I think the lad needs a season on loan somewhere, he's not going to improve spending another season watching someone else, at his stage of development he needs to be playing games and he's obviously not ready for this level yet.
On the whole things are looking promising, some decent performances so far in pre-season but still think we need another league 2 centre midfield player, wide player and a forward.
