Re: Blackpool game
don't bother to go. save youre money and go to an extra away game. if there is trouble you could get mixed up with it and for what the game is a friendly. too much ale to be consumed by 7.45.

Re: Blackpool game
If there is still anyone at the club with a pair of balls, then this game needs pulling ASAP.
From Blackpool Forum....
"Back to the early eighties now we,ll smash your ****-hole of a town to pieces as well as causing disruption in the ground !!!!! "
Are we really going to put our stewards in the firing line with clowns like this around ? Every sympathy with the genuine fans and a genuine protest, but with every peaceful process there will be knobheads tagging along.
What if the game attracts some Rovers or Burnley fans who fancy getting involved ?
If we leave this game on, then we will get no sympathy from anyone - we'll just look like desperate mugs putting money before common sense. Probably further alienating the residents of Whalley Road, Livingstone Road etc along the way.
Come on Mr T - Strap a pair on!!!!!

Think Mr T is a few rungs down the ladder from making that decision, he has to follow directions from the police, safety officer and directors.

Re: Blackpool game
Directions from the police? thats a laugh, during the miners strike they were only interested in the overtime. The safety officer is n ex policeman also.

Re: Blackpool game
I can see a disaster happening on Friday if the game is allowed to go ahead.

Football these days is dictated to by the tv companies and the police. Wasn't it the police that changed FA Cup replays from being a couple of days after the original match to over a week later. Didn't they come up with some 7 day notice thing ?

Re: Blackpool game
The police "Cannot" make a decision if a match should be cancelled cos of factors that could cause bad fer our club, surely thats down to our rulers not police?

Re: Blackpool game
It is no good shifting the onus onto the police. Don't tell me the club can't cancel or postpone the fixture off their own bat. Cynically putting the attraction of a few thousand pounds of gate money before all else is a deplorable abdication of responsibility. Shame on our board.

I would think the onus on the police is to arrest the plank on the Blackpool forum for incitement

Re: Blackpool game
looking at the disaster of Lancaster v Blackpool game and the cancelled fixture at Morecambe plus the threats from Blackpool fans on forums, someone at Stanley has to take their head out of the sand and make a decision

Re: Blackpool game
This is one friendly I was really looking forward to but having serious reservations about going - protesting peacefully is one thing but some of the posts on Blackpool's forum, are quite worrying & like someone said earlier there's always some who aren't necessarily fans of the club who get involved just for the sole purpose of causing trouble, really don't know what to do on Friday??
