Robert Grant agrees Scunthorpe deal
Robert Grant is set to leave the Crown Ground after agreeing personal terms with Championship side Scunthorpe United.

The left footed winger who has played up front for much of this season had a medical yesterday and has now agreed a deal at Glanford Park.

Bobby was out of contract this summer however as he is under the age of 24 a fee will be payable to Accrington Stanley for our part in his development since he joined us in July 2006.

A product of our youth development programme at the club, the 19 year old has made 77 appearances for Stanley, netting 19 times, the majority of which have been in this last season.

Discussions have been ongoing over the last week or so however with the two clubs having differing opinions on his worth the fee now looks set to be decided by a tribunal.

2 questions. (1) When will Tribunal Decide the Fee? (2) Will Coley be given this money, now the club aint in debt?

It is right, just the bosman ruling being he is under 24 gets us the cash, his contract expired at the end of the season

Not sure of all the ins and outs of this bosman ruling, but it does mean even if the contract has ran out where the player was at, they will still get money off the players new club because he is under 24

It's all here if you can be bothered:
FA Rules & Regs

(ii) There shall be no right to a compensation or transfer fee by the previous Club of a Player who has attained the age of 24 years on or before 30th June and whose contract with that Club has expired. If a Club wishes to offer re-engagement to a Player or exercise an option contained in the agreement the following practice shall prevail.

As Bobby Grant isn't 24 it looks like Stanley will get something out of it.
