It's a dream come true for Bobby
BOBBY Grant has described his switch from Accrington Stanley to Scunthorpe United as a 'dream come true' as he looks forward to plying his trade in the Championship for the first time.
Grant, 19, was impressive form last season in the famous red of Stanley, netting 18 goals in all competitions, which meant a lot of extra attention for the youngster who had been on the radar of a number of Championship clubs, a list which included the likes of Queens Park Rangers.
The Liverpool born winger come forward will sign a two-year deal with Scunthorpe when his contract runs out at the Crown Ground in June, after snubbing Stanley's offer of a similar length of contract.
Grant told scunthorpe-united.co.uk that he was very happy to have signed for The Irons, and was looking forward to a new challenge in an higher league.
'This is a fresh start for me and hopefully I can perform now for Scunthorpe.' Grant told the club's official website.
'I had a great season at Accrington last year, and I managed to hit a few goals.
'My agent then got in touch and told me that Scunthorpe were interested.
'As soon as I heard that there was only one place I was going, I couldn't turn this move down no matter what.
'I just want to get into the team and perform well at such a high stage and Scunthorpe have given me a chance to play at that level.'
