clean sheets to go to equal the highest ever (Stanley) number of clean sheets in a football league season!

that was in 1955-56 for those that remember their Tommy McQueens from their Willie McIness'

Dunbavin has 8 clean sheets
Cisak has 3 Clean Sheets.

Also to note, both Lincoln and Torquay have failed to score against in both home & fixtures.

Only 42 games in 55/56 though. If there were 15 clean sheets then, we need 16.42 out of 46 this season to equal that ....

I think we may have got the 0.42 of a clean sheet; any game where we didn't concede until the second half (or until we'd played 37 minutes 48 seconds of the first half)

all irrelevant, we played 46! other than the ill fated 61-62 season we played 46 gaems each season back to 49-50.

55-56 we kept 16 League clean sheets - there was an FA Cup clean sheet but it would be unfair to include any cup stats as we play far more games now in Mickey Mouse cups of various guises

Sorry if my first post was a red herring, I felt sure there were 22 teams in all divisions until the top flight got precious .. was it actually 22/22/24/24 then?

Yes, until the late 80s, when it went to 21 in the top division, then 20 the following season.

Another stat from that period is the 96 goals scored in 54/55. I doubt that we''ll be breaking that record for a while. Although one lives in hope...
