In today's T&A it says that Bradford are still looking at signing a defender, but it's difficult because the ones they're interested in are all under contract to other clubs.

I have previously said Matty is too good to move to Bradford, This kind of move would not be any real benefit to Matty. His next move would need to be championship level for him to progress. He is easily worth £750k to a championship club.

Whilst agree that Matty is a great asset to us how much is he really worth, not proven at a level above league 2, but young and a great prospect so who knows I'm no agent but £500k doubles our transfer record and frees up serious cash to bring other players in. Don't get me wrong I don't want to see him leave but that strikes as decent biz to me with the right sell on fees did cost chuff all afterall!

In principle yes, it's a good deal for the club but here's where my heart works before my head & I stamp my feet saying no, no, no! For once let's keep as many as we can going into the new season - plus if he went now it'd be harder to take than if it'd happened earlier in the summer, wouldn't give us much time to get someone in or even reshuffle before Saturday either

true that accymad. if he,s going for proper money it would be better if he went in january. gives coley time to look for a replacement and a few excellent performances by him could actually increase the fee. half a million should be the minimum.

Nige b is the voice of reason. The price is right. Everyone is forgetting about Matty himself. Do you really want to retain a lad who can climb the ladder two leagues - and triple his pay ?
The club's already said they wont stand in his way.
Barnsley are astute in their dealings at this level.
Bought Yiadom from Barnet for last season and he starred.
Suspect Matty will be his replacement if the deal goes ahead - and wait till you see how much profit Barnsley will make on Yiadom.

Thats crap, no-one i imagine wants to stop Matty doing well, the price is right in your opinion and niges, not in other peoples, his true value the club should set, and whatever that is, will no doubt be commented on if a sale occurs.but it will not be published is a knocking bet.
