Exactly!
It's all relative to the financial position of the club.
For Matty Pearson, who already has proven ability I would think 250-500k for league!1, £1m for Championship & £2-5m from the PL.

Re: Bradford City ponder move for local lad Matty Pearson
I am afraid Stanley's chances of promotion have taken a severe knock. We should have held on to Matty for this season at least. I am afraid the main cog has been removed. I just hope it was worth the money.

Don't think it would've been fair to try & hold Matty back, he deserves the chance to play in the championship - don't get me wrong I'm gutted he's gone but that's more due to the timing of it

I have no wish to hold Matty back either, Like you I am gutted and the timing stinks. I do wish him well and always knew he would move on to a higher club. I can't understand why it was left so late. It affects so many others in the club, the kit sponsor, the fans, Sadly I don't think Stanley have got a replacement as good as we have let go. We have no say in the matter but Gutted.

Good luck Matty P.
Big miss but not irreplaceable.
Sad to see him go but seems good business for us.

If Andy Holt had not changed the contract situation Matty would have gone for sod all, Instead the club have got a record fee, undisclosed but a record.Well done Mr Holt. Seems Barnsley have come up wi the Ackers while Bradford are pondering. lol

Why he was out of contract this summer probaly and I am guessing he woul,nt sign an improved contract that was probaly on the table good buisness in the football world and good for Stanley, good luck to the lad but we are,nt a one man team Tyler was a good player at Fleetwood and earned a move to Brighton in my eyes a bigger club than Barnsley.

Totally over the top comment.
Think about the other 10.
Personally I hope the kid from Brighton makes you eat your words.

we get this everytime one of our better players move on. doomed after 2010/11 side broke up. tom aldred going, windass and crookes last season and now matty. we,ll miss him but the club lives on and players will always go to be replaced by new heroes. at least players are not given away nowadays unlike the past.

Re: Bradford City ponder move for local lad Matty Pearson
Thing is clubs like ours plus many other richer clubs "ALWAYS" lose their better players, its a fact of life. Get over it we move on. We were discussing the obvious move in the clubhouse thurs night, it was always gonna happen,2 clubs interested in the lad seems we got the best deal,
