Re: Bryan Hughes.

Correct me,but I thought most of people on here agreed that a good season would be staying in the league after losing most of our best players!!!!.
Think what the team has achieved so far, nearly exceeds last seasons exploits.
If they get over 50 points, that will be a result in my eyes----come on smudgie what they achieve from now on is a bonus!!!

Agree 100%.

Further to that, I believe Charlie Barnett is more than capable of doing what Bryan Hughes does given the chance, should the worst case scenario come to be. I believe he has the talent; his game is a class above this level, just as Hughes' is. All I'm saying is be wary of putting too much on Hughes. He's quality, but there's a lot of that in our team.

I too agree with your statement.

My goal at the start of every season is always, safe by Easter, anything more is a bonus that I'll enjoy.

Re: Bryan Hughes.

No question Football 19, i'm perfectly happy after what occured end of last season, my point is simple,a player of hughes quality is worth retaining not just on the pitch, but also what he can pass on to our kids, after all hes a class up from what else we got. thats my view.

Re: Bryan Hughes.

Cashy I think everyone knows hes class,he played in the prem league !!, but we are not a one man team and signing him depends on what he is asking for.
Defo improved our team attacking wise, but lets not forget upto last weekend we had lost only 6 games,so there are other key players who have played there part,Hessey,Bav and longy spring to mind.

I'm well aware we aint a one man team, its me who's bin saying fer a long time,i think were better than last seasons heros,n that was before we got Hughsey, n its obviously dependant on the terms any fool knows that, its simple if it can be done then it damn well should be,

Re: Bryan Hughes.

Avoiding relegation is ALWAYS my target, regardless of what happened last season. Until we can improve the infrastructure at the club it will always be the case.

If you read my season preview in the magazine Four-Four-Two it states this.

My point being is that there is no co-incidence that since Hughes signed it has totally transformed our team. IF we can keep him then there might, just might be an outside chance of a playoff push, IF not then so be it, but we will be weakening our chances severely in the middle of the park.

Re: Bryan Hughes.

Cannot understand the reasons to not play coid either.

He has been fit for a while now, fair enough we where winning but he is a class act.

Re: Bryan Hughes.

I think I said if toto played against Barnet,I would defo have played coid,as his experience would have helped against Marshall(who tormented murph a few years ago with his pace).
He looked fit to me and I would defo play him on saturday.
