Couple of posts I picked up from the Stanley footymad site which shows this;

Yet another county fan here. I have a spare tenner if the buckets go round at our next home game ...sod it make it £20 .... good luck in the future and as I live next door in Yorks I will be visiting when we play you.

Self explanatory

Hello,

I am a Burnley fan but have always had a soft spot for Accrington Stanley.

Stanley have to earn over 308,000 GBP in 8 weeks or else they will have to file for administration. Any donations from 0.01 to the whole 308,000 would be greatful.

Re: Burnley friendly

wouldn't it be good if the likes of David Lloyd and Alister Campbell were to show support and tun up , and maybe sell autographs or even that stupid chap that sells double glazing,,,,just a thought

Shame the match will under the guidance of petty rules, otherwise I reckon they both may have fancied playing.

We could though bring out one of our hotshot forwards for the game

Finally, remember the 'Orient Match' ? What might have happened that day... ?
Pre May 2009 and Wembley..apparently our own football finances were dire at that time...For Accrington Stanley read............Burnley.

Excellent point, Dave, and one that perhaps some of the "option 2 camp" on claretsmad should consider.

Incidentally, got stopped by Clarets fans on two separate occasions in Manc centre this weekend who spotted my shirt. Both shook my hand and wished us all the best.

Every club will have a share of fans who take option 2, even certain ones on here have not really committed to option 1 have they

As long as option 2 is always the tiny minority, football in general is safe

Yes they would be excellent, but what about Greg Pope as the MP for Hyndburn and of course Steven Gerrard as a mate of Dunbavin and Grant, Then of course there is the whole of Hyndburn B.C. This would mean that they are dipping into their own pockets to help save the football club that carries the town name and not dipping into Borough coffers.

Quite right, Dave, I reckon the majority of football fans don't like to see any club die.

However, my experiences over the years living away from the town have convinced me that Stanley have a special place in the affections of British football fans. It might be the unusual name, it might be our chequered history, it might simply be the British love of the underdog. This is something which I feel will be of massive help to us over the next few weeks!
