was it right that there was some 'handbags' in the Clayton End?
Things got a bit heated for a few minutes. Also had the presence of a convicted murderer Police checked to see if he was still serving a banning order, turns out it finished at the end of last season.
Wow....Dingles got home against the run of play...looks promising for your lot Dave...
Not really. We played some nice stuff but we have not addressed the problem of lack of firepower up front. Oh for an Andy Bishop-type player who can make and take chances - we never worked their keeper at all. Plus points for me were the new left back who looked the part, feisty and a good footballer, and Murdoch at C.H. looked very solid in a 1st half defence which did the business.. Miles looked sharp , unrecognisable as the player who left us on loan - "who is the new no. 7", said my neighbour! Ryan(?) showed some good touches when he came on but gave the ball away too often.Massively dissapointed with Grant's performance today - he really has to convince me that he has what it takes, and Proccy was completely out of his depth today. I also thought Kenny should have done better with the 2 free-kicks, although the wall didn't do it's job for the 1st - it wasn't exactly a top corner job.
Like TM, I'm very, very worried by our complete lack of striking ability up front.

Our biggest problem is, who's going to score the goals?
Personally I thought Clarke was poor, did he have a shot? I also thought that Murdock is not fit to lace Kempsons boots, did Coleman actually see him play, I thought he was too slow and was saved by Edwards on a few occasions.
To finish my moan I couldn't get a beer or a burger at half time because the *3100* had the lot before I got there.

I'm seriously not moaning here, just expressing a genuine concern.
We will concede goals aplenty next season, because that's what we do. However, I honestly can't see where the goals are going to come from. Mullin might get 9 or 10 if we're lucky, but where are the others coming from? Craney will chip in with a couple maybe, but if we don't find a winger and a striker (or two), we're in serious trouble.
You thought last season was dull and depressing at home? Just wait for this one!!
We should remember there is a big gulf between League 2 and the Championship.
Maybe but there was some good results today from League 2 clubs, be honest if we had been playing Barrow today we wouldn't have scored.

I know there's a gulf between the leagues, that's pretty obvious. But Bagpuss is right, we never created anything. We just got it forward to Mullin as fast as possible. I've seen that somewhere before.... lots of times.
I was a bit disappointed that Diego Penny wasn't in the Clayton End goal in the second half - I was going to shout insults at him in Peruvian Spanish!
Here's one Wyn!...'.eres un negado'...with any expletive you choose to use between 'un' and 'negado'...
I tried to translate..'You are as low as a corn on the sole of a flat-footed pygmy'..but failed miserably !.
But as he wasn't at the Clayton End anyway, this would appear to be another exercise in purveying trivial information...
Alfred.E. smiles again!!.
Respect and regards!
I have to agree with Bagpuss reference the half time fiasco of trying to get a drink, that's just basic stuff and we did not learn from the same thing happening at the Bury game how much more of peoples hard earned could have gone into the Clubs coffers
Why was the Lounge Front Door Locked? Maybe there was a reason but it was not exactly packed to the rafters in there, did we shoot ourselves in the foot again
The game had a few plus points for me:
Chris King at Left Back looked very good, Murdock looked okay but as others have already mentioned up Front we just look so lightweight, lack of anything on Goal it does worry me that we have not signed a proven Striker and that needs to be addressed before the Season starts or it is going to be long hard season

Does it actually make a difference to the clubs coffers apart from the clubhouse bar ? The catering is outsourced so presumably they pay a fee for rent regardless of takings, unless they pay some sort of percentage of takings which I doubt.
