Burnley up-Good or bad for Stanley?

The way I see it, as they loose more and more regularly, and provided we are winning our share (and thats a big proviso), surely the non die-hards will (might) drift on down to the FES? Don't know if Accys crowds can really get much lower so loosing neighbours could be a good thing....
... of course that assumes they will loose regularly...

But what effect will this have on us-any?

Won't make much difference to us diehards. I'd never set foot in Turf Moor in a month of Sundays. However, if we go on a good run next season (a big "if" I know) will make it more difficult for us to pick up "floaters".

There are two sides to every coin

We can sit in a corner and rest on our botties, or go with flow and look upon it as maybe something the Club can build on.

If the normal pre-season friendly does take place, it could be the Clarets fans first chance to possibly have a look at any new signings and give their backing to the team on their achievements, So it may have an effect of pushing the gate up in a big way.

It may push Claret Reserve attendances up as one would imagine their second string will become even more stronger.

I would be looking to build stronger links with both our East Lancashire neighbours and possibly look at it in terms of maybe becoming a feeder club, we had three signings through this network this season all with varying degrees of success.

Lastly I have mentioned on a few occasion the Clarets "Premiership Pledge" now kicks in, giving the 7000 plus season ticket holders at the Turf free footie next season maybe Stanley could work out some sort of offer for a discounted Season Ticket scheme, or an odd game or two that are perhaps midweek and would normally be low key affairs offer a discount for walk on's from either Rovers or Burnley on production of their season tickets from their respective clubs.

There are plenty who view Stanley as their "second " team maybe now more than ever it is time to look forward not sideways.

don't think it will make much difference,personally, only time will tell, bookies already have the dingles odds on to go right back down, they seldom make mistakes.

how often are Premiership matches played at 3pm on a Saturday ?

Way back when we were non-league, seem to remember quite a few dingles coming on because it was quite OK to have such a lowly club as a "second team". When we went up, there was only one division between us, so we were a bit too close for comfort.

Perhaps, now we're in different worlds again, they'll be tempted to come back?

Don't think it will make the slightest difference. The only way you will get more Burnley fans or Blackburns going on Stanley is to watch a team doing well, as was proved when you won the Conference.

It is congratulations from me to Burnley but hopefully it won't be a bad thing for stanley as i do have a soft spot for you unless you are playing Bury! Just to say do you think the stanley board would consider having more and more friday night games to get more home support or do you think that would lose you money from visiting fans?

Well, Pud, we've done this one to death in previous close seasons. If anything, providing Saturday football, with a 3 o'clock KO, could be a selling point, but only marginally.

big congratulations, worthy goal, a tremendous achievement, just goes to show what you can do with a bit of organization, hard work and one or two match winners. i think they might stop up as well.

I was gonna say Burnley won't be playing on Saturdays for a while

If they play the teams in europe later on in the season they will HAVE to play on Sundays because the other team will have to have at least 2 days to rest awwwwwww......

On that note well done Graham Alexander 61 games played this season, a REAL footballer and not a girlie one that needs a week off every couple of games.
