Re: Bury
Bury much better team than Chesterfield were last week - very even game could have gone either way. Gotta give credit to Coley for the goal - Jacobson was going to stay back until Coley shouted for him to go up for it and Winnard to hold back.

Re: Bury
Well I can believe a Mr P Merson being underwhelmed, I thought that the game was going to peter out into a 0-0 bore draw, but for the one spot of brightness my Joe Jacobsen. First goal in 3 years eh!! Lets hope for many more, because I couldn't see Gornell and McConville scoring today as they were man marked out of the game. Listening to Radio Lancs on the way home and all I thought was, which game had he been watching because he was saying that it was Stanley all the way?? Never mind, I will settle for boring 1-0 wins all season long, just as long as we keep picking up 3 points, I will be happy.

Re: Bury
Wasn't a great game. Neither team created that many chances. I thought Terry Gornell had a good game, he held the ball up really well. The Bury fans to say there was a lot of them didn't make that much noise.

We never do at your place. For some reaosn if theres no roof they think its against the law to sing. They were moaning all the game about there being no atmosphere but none of em would try and get it going.
Saying that it helps if your teams not pants.

Re: Bury
Quite a hard fought game today and we ground out a result
Thought Gornell worked his socks off holding the ball up, a lot of the time having to turn provider by being pushed out wide by through balls and marks manfully back in defence for set pieces thoroughly deserving of the MOM.
I also thought quite a clever substitution by Coley with Leam playing a man to man marker job which snuffed out the threat through midfield.
It was equally good to see us still taking the threat to the Shakers after we scored by playing high up the pitch.
Also Good to see Joe "The Salmon" Jacobson hit the mark and again he had a steady game at the back as did all the back four.
Three very good points and still moving upward

Re: Bury
felt a little sorry for razor today as most things he tried didnt come off.
inspired substitution as liam blocked the wing up allowing jimmy to move inside and influence the game more.
Gornell gets better everytime i see him,he works so hard and holds the ball up,if he had a little more luck in front of goal he will defo go on to play at an higher level.
The two centre backs were awesome today and smashed there forwards, who didnt like it

Re: Bury
Can agree with f19, especially the comments about Gornell. CB's played with great resillience today, well done Sunbed & Longy . Not a great game but this time we get the points and a clean sheet. Pleased for Proccy too, today , who outplayed that miserable cheat (no 19) who got him sent off at Gigg Lane in October
PS What do you call Ricky Ponting holding a bat ?..............a vet

Re: Bury
Although there was little or no reminder of the football played in the Chesterfield fixture, I thought it was a good match. It was a close battle of a game where hard work and perseverance won it for us in the end.
The pitch was extremely heavy which made it almost impossible to get our passing game going and made the running ten times harder. How Gornell kept going on that pitch in his third game in a week is beyond me. Thought Dean Winnard put in a performance equally deserving of the man of the match award, but I can't fault Gornell.
We could've let the game peter out into a bore draw but we kept patiently pressing and making chances. Very proud of the lads for that. Great win.
And we scored from a McConville corner! Cor blimey!

Re: Bury
Not a classic but a good three points. Razor didnt look match fit and nothing came off for him. Thought Long and Edwards were star men. Good job Bury didnt turn up guns blazing cos we didnt play like we did in the last game. All the same 3 points in the bag.

Re: Bury
According to the bury web site we have had a similar start to 2011
Accrington lost on new years day at morecombe, and a good draw against chesterfield, obviously understimated us

Re: Bury
I couldent care less what Merson thinks to be honest, the bloke is a fool.
As for the game, the pitch was the winner which is a shame, but a great crowd in, with the Shakers bringing a great following as normal.
Thought Edwards & Long where superb again.
Quite why they took off their best player Andy Haworth was a strange one but ill have that
1-0 scrappy win?? Ill take it every time :
Roll on Cheltenham on Saturday
